American Express Centurion card
This card is at the top of all the other prestige cards offered by American Express. It is one level above the Platinum credit card and there is no other card offered by American Express that provides more features and exclusive offers than this one. It is at the top of the list when it comes to cards.
This card has a mystique to it you will not find in any other card. An invitation is extended to current cardholders that have an extremely high income. Approximately 1% of American Express cardholders are issued an invitation, and that is why it is called the American Express Centurion card.
The American Express Centurion card first started as a rumor. There was talk that there was a card that offered more than the Platinum card and had very high credit limits.
The American Express company quickly took advantage of the rumors and released the Centurion.
The annual fee on this black card is $4300. There is also an initiation fee that is twice the amount of the annual fee. This initiation fee is only charged one time, and it is not enforced in Australia.
This invitation only card has its own travel agency as well as a dedicated American Express concierge service. This service can handle a variety of unique requests, and has built up a reputation based on the odd requests it fulfills. One of the other perks of owning one of these prestige cards is the ability to get free tickets for companions as long as the full ticket price is paid with certain airlines. This can apply to personal travel as well as business travel. There is also a program that is similar for hotel stays and there is automatic enrollment in car hire and preferential Airline programs.
The American Express Centurion card is a black card that is available for the discriminating cardholder that wants more in a card and is willing to pay highly for it.
