Can I opt to change my arrangement re points after I’ve already had the card a couple of years? That is, can I opt to change my current points over to Qantas points, and to apply all future DJs points to my Qantas FF account?

Hi Angela,

Thank you for contacting Finder.

Yes, you may change your Reward Option to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program though you will not be able to convert your current Membership Rewards Points to Qantas Points. You will need to redeem Membership Rewards Points 30 days within your notification of changing your rewards program. Once you have made the switch, you will now earn Qantas points given that you have provided your Qantas Frequent Flyer number.

You can learn more about the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program.

You may only change your rewards program once every year.

I hope this helps.

Let us know if there is anything else that we may assist you with.

Cheers,

Ash

Hello Tanvir,

Thank you for your comment.

According to David Jones Storecard and David Jones American Express Reward Points Terms and Conditions, Membership Rewards points can be redeemed for David Jones Gift Cards, Frequent Traveller Rewards, Non-Frequent Traveller Rewards, Points for Travel, to Shop with Points, or Points + Pay online at David Jones, and Credit on the Card, provided your account and all your other accounts with us are kept in good standing and not overdue.

Unfortunately, points cannot be used to pay for annual fee.

Regards,

Jhezelyn

How many point is allocated for every dollar spent with government agencies and if there is an annual or monthly limit on David Jones American Express Card?

Hi Piotr,

Thank you for your enquiry.

There is no monthly or annual limit or cap to the earned points of Jones American Express Card. You can earn 0.5 rewards point per dollar paid to the ATO using this credit card. You may also check out credit cards that earn rewards points on ATO payments.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Jason

Hi, Presuming there’s no cost if cancelling the credit card, but wanted to know if cancellation would bring down credit score? Or any penalty should put into consideration?

How long would be able to receive the bonus Qantas point after meet the purchase?

Thanks

Hi Jul,

Thanks for your question.

Each time you apply for credit or close a credit account, it shows on your credit file. While lenders might view too many listings as a risk, closing accounts to minimise available credit should not affect your credit score negatively. Just remember to close your credit card properly so that you’ll not leave outstanding debts.

Generally, there are no penalties for closing a card.

It would take 8 to 10 weeks after you have made the eligible spend for the points to be credited to your account.

Cheers,

Anndy
