Can I hook my card up to some bills I pay ie gas, electricity, rates etc in order to gain extra points?

    • Staff
      Debbie | September 21, 2016

      Hi Gina,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

As long as your bills payment are not considered as cash advance, you can earn points through them. Using your card on major petrol stations and supermarkets can let you earn rewards points too.

Please note that the following transactions are excluded on earning rewards points: cash advances, cash services, travellers cheque purchases, interest charges, fees and charges or balance transfers from other credit card accounts and storecards.

For your reference, I have sent the David Jones Amex Rewards terms and conditions in to your email.

      I hope this helps.

I’m interested in a card that includes discounts at gas. Does this Card offer that?

    • Staff
      May | July 28, 2016

      Hi Roberta,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

This David Jones American Express Card will let you earn points when you use it for paying your petrol at partner stations of AMEX but will not let you get discounts on fuel. You can find more of this kind of credit card here.

There are actually credit cards that let you cashback and discounts directly from purchasing fuel. They are not linked with any other existing rewards program but are connected to specific fuel retailers.

Hi, I own a small business and pay large amounts of tax each quarter ($150000). I am wondering whether there is a credit card available which I could use to pay some or all of this tax to the ATO and earn Qantas FF points by doing so?

    I have 2 Questions below.

To be eligible for the bonus points, I am required to complete 3 purchases in 1st month outside of David Jones.

Q1. Is there a $ spend minimum for these 3 purchases?
Q2. Is there a requirement for a transaction within David Jones by any time frame?
    Thanks Tim.
