I’m a little confused by the international fees. So if I draw out money at an overseas ATM, I would get charged an overseas cash advance fee of $2.50(or 2%), plus overseas ATM withdrawal fee of $2.50, plus a foreign currency conversion fee of 3%? That seems like one fee too many, or is that correct?

    • Staff
      Ysa | September 20, 2016

      Hi Blender,

      Thanks for your question.

An overseas ATM withdrawal of $2.50 will apply when you withdraw your money on any ATM overseas.

On the other hand, the overseas cash advance fee will only be charged per transaction for a cash made outside Australia and will be debited on the transaction date. Whilst the foreign conversion fee will only be charged for any transactions made in foreign currency.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Ysa

      Thank you for your question.

      - 2,500 bonus Qantas Points: after your first card spend in Australia on selected Qantas products and services.

I hope this has answered your questions.

Can you tell me if my wife is eligible for the introductory bonus points if she applies and is accepted for a new card where she is the primary cardholder, if she is already a supplementary cardholder on my amex card where I am the primary cardholder? From reading the T&C’s for the card I would conclude yes as the “member” I would take to mean the person whose name the account is in.

      Hi Mike,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

As long as your wife has not previously owned any American Express card or has been a primary cardholder within the past twelve months, then she should be eligible for the bonus points offer.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,
      Debbie

    Hi
I have a David Jones store card (which is financed by AMEX)does this mean I am not eligible for the points offer? this is the DJ Store card, not the David Jones American Express Card.
    Thanks!

      Ally | February 25, 2016

      Hi Lou,

      Thank for reaching out.

Kindly note that finder.com.au is an online comparison service that does not represent any credit card issuer such as AMEX.

Nonetheless, we can confirm that the AMEX Qantas Premium Credit Card bonus points offer is only available to new AMEX Members who apply online by 29 February 2016, are approved and meet the required spend criteria. Existing cardholders and those who have previously held AMEX credit cards in the past 12 months are ineligible for the offer.

You’ve mentioned that you only hold the DJ store card and not the David Jones AMEX card. If you haven’t enrolled your DJ store card in the Membership Rewards Points program yet, then you may still apply for the AMEX Qantas Platinum card and become eligible to earn its rewards points.

For more information, kindly read through the link that I sent to your email. You may also opt to contact AMEX for direct assistance through the contact details that I sent you.

      I hope this has helped.

      Cheers,
      Ally
