Could the following questions be answered:

    1) Does the domestic flight mentioned on this card include Perth to the eastern states (eg Melbourne).

    2) What does ‘selected Qantas products and services’ entail to earn the additional 2500 points.

      Hi Paul

      Thanks for your question

      1) Does the domestic flight mentioned on this card include Perth to the eastern states (eg Melbourne).
      - According to the terms and conditions: “The Qantas domestic return flight in Economy class between selected Australian capital cities is available for booking for Qantas American Express Ultimate Cardmembers. All flights are subject to availability and neither American Express nor Qantas guarantee that seats or tickets will be available on the dates or at the times you may wish to fly.” It would be best to check with American Express customer service with this specific query.

      2) What does ‘selected Qantas products and services’ entail to earn the additional 2500 points.
      - Selected Qantas products and services are: (a) Qantas passenger flights with a QF flight number purchased on the Qantas merchant account i.e. directly with Qantas or some travel agents or (b) purchases from Qantas Travel shops. Excludes: Qantas Holidays, Qantas Freight, Jetstar, Qantas branded non-airfare products operated by third parties e.g. Qantas Box Office.

      Cheers

      Jeremy

If I have cancelled a previously held Visa and Amex joined card acquired through a bank, does this still make me a new customer if I apply online and I do not currently hold an American Express card?

Hi Nanette. Technically, yes; however, this product is no longer open to applicants. Sorry for the delayed response. Jacob.

I see this is not available to temporary residents. Myself and my partner are currently on an extended business Visa (sub-class 457) valid until May 2016. Does this mean we are not eligible to apply?!

    Thank you.

H Ross. Thanks for your question and apologies for the delay in our response. Some American Express credit cards are available to holders of a sub-class 457 Visa. Please see each card’s review and application page for eligibility. Jacob.

I have the Qantas Ultimate Credit card and my wife has a supplementary card. We are travelling overseas and have booked our payed for our Qantas flights with the Amex card. Are we both covered under the free travel insurance that I understand is included with this card?

    • Staff
      Jacob | April 7, 2013

Hi Ian. Thanks for your question. With complimentary travel insurances offered with American Express cards, the supplementary cardholder does not receive the same benefits as the primary cardholder — please check with ACE Insurance Limited, they are the providers of the insurance cover for American Express. Jacob.
