The Student’s Rights Prepaid Visa Card made available through ANZ is not only for students to purchase and enjoy the benefits of being a cardholder, but for parents to have an easier way of allocating their university allowances. It’s reloadable you can simply top it up from your own money up to the value of $1,000 each month.
You won’t even need to worry if an emergency crops up where cash only is required, because it can also be used at ATMs that carry the Visa symbol for cash withdrawals too. There are small fees and charges associated with cash withdrawals, and these can be found on the Student’s Rights Prepaid Visa Card website under the product disclosure statement.
Features and Benefits
No risk of debt – The card is prepaid so there’s no risk of running up interest charges and other fees.

No credit check is necessary either, making it the perfect way for students to learn how to budget whilst they are just starting to spread their “financial wings” out.
It’s used in the same way a Visa card which means it can be used in Australia as well as anywhere on the globe that accepts Prepaid Visa Cards electronically. It can be used in stores, or online for books, supplies, groceries, tuition, clothing, uniforms and the like.
The Perfect Financial Learning Tool
The Student’s Rights Visa Card is also the best way for students to manage their budgets and experience the freedom that having a Visa card brings. What’s even more beneficial is that having the Student’s Rights card makes them eligible for numerous special discounts and offers. This also helps them keep their budget in check!
What better way to learn how to juggle essential monthly bills, with fun and leisure money? These cards are a fantastic financial training tool, that can’t get students into debt, and won’t be rejected as a “boring theory lesson.”

It’s the only prepaid Visa card that gives students the freedom found in owning a visa card for purchases, and peace of mind for parents.

Is the prepaid visa card still available.
I tried to organise one through my local branch, to be told that they did not exist.
I wish to use one for a business account.
Hi Stephen. Search for ‘ANZ reloadable visa card’ in Google. Check the top result. Thanks.
I would like to get a card and sent it to my son’s overseas (Taiwan). The card is going to be in his name so that I can reload it when needed. Can I apply for him?
Please advise.
Hi Catherine. Yes, you can do this. It works like a normal pre-paid card, you can go purchase it, top it up with money and send it off. It doesn’t have a name on the front so anyone can use it. Thanks.
Do what are the fees for reloading money and can this be used on the net without being linked to an account?
Hi Jill. Thanks for your question. ANZ do not offer this product for consumer to consumer use anymore. They offer a similar product which is designed for business to consumer use. They do offer pre-paid VIsa gift cards – there is a one time fee when you purchase the card and add value to it. Once the value of the card is used, you will have to purchase another card. These cards can be used without linking them to a bank account. Jacob.
