This could be an ideal card if you want to be rewarded for any purchases that you make. You will receive points for every dollar that you spend on your and it is quite easy to accumulate points. Once you have built up enough points you can start shopping for items such as merchandise, shopping vouchers and various experiences. These points will be added to your account any time you make a purchase anywhere that Visa and American Express are accepted worldwide.

Variable Points Plus Pay option:

This option allows you to claim a merchandise reward before you have earned sufficient points. I was advised by an ANZ branch that the points for the ANZ Visa rewards credit card expired within 3 years however the Credit card finder website states that ‘Rewards points never expire as long as your account remains open’, could you please verify this?

    Thanks

    Chris

Hi Chris. Thanks for alerting to this typo. The page has been updated. According to the ANZ Rewards Visa Card Terms and Conditions, ‘Reward Points must be used to claim a reward within 36 months of 31 December of the year in which the Reward Point were added to a points record. Reward Points that remain unused after that period will be cancelled. In the event your card account is closed, any Reward Points that remain unused must be used within 60 days of the date of closure. Reward Points that remain unused after that period will be cancelled.’ Thanks for your question.

What is the supplementary card holders fee?

    • Staff
      Jeremy | March 5, 2012

      Hi,

A supplementary card holders fee is a fee incurred for adding another person to your credit card so they can use it. A supplementary card holder does not have the same level of access as the primary card holder but they can still make purchases. Hope this clears things up.

      Cheers,
      Jeremy

Do you offer credit cards for temporary residents of Australia? I will soon be an international postgraduate student and would like an Australian credit card.

      Jeremy | February 10, 2012

      Hi,

To be eligible for an Australian credit card, most if not all companies require that you are a permanent resident but it would be best to consider speaking to someone at a bank branch in person. There have been instances in the past where users have been able to get a credit card issues while on a Visa. Thanks for your question.

      Cheers

Can you tell me if there is an additional charge for more card holders?

    • Staff
      Jeremy | February 7, 2012

      Hi Paula,

Yes, there is a fee for each additional card holder plus an additional fee to place that person on the cards reward scheme, so $65 for each new card holder for full access to the cards benefits. Thanks.

      Cheers.

I don’t currently have a qantas membership. I would consider an additional card for my husband – could we link his membership or do I have to get my own one and would there be an additional fee

    • Staff
      Jacob | August 12, 2012

Hi Mary. If there is an additional cardholder added to the ANZ Rewards Visa Credit Card, they will accrue points for the frequent flyer membership that is linked to the primary cardholder. Each additional frequent flyer membership wil incur an additional membership fee. Thanks for your question.

Can you make business purchases with this credit card?

For example; paying a bill to a supplier.

    • Staff
      Jacob | September 25, 2012

Hi Wade. Thanks for your question. You can use your card for to make business purchases, but you may not earn points. You will not earn Reward Points on interest charges; government charges; bank fees; cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) and card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions. The terms and conditions say nothing about not earning points on business purchases, check with your lender for further clarification. Cheers.

      I hope this helps,
      Marc.

Do you accrue points on Bpay purchases?

    • Staff
      Jacob | May 3, 2013

Hi Graeme. Thanks for your question. It depends on the merchant. If the merchant is set up to accept BPAY payments then the transaction will be treated as a purchase. If they aren’t, then it will be treated as a cash advance and you won’t earn points. If you’re having doubts about this, you can call ANZ and they will confirm whether it will be a purchase or a cash advance. Jacob.

Hi James. Thanks for your question. I’m not sure I understand this question. Hi James. Thanks for your question. Although this card is intended for personal use, there is nothing that stops you from using it to pay for business inventory items. You an even earn points on these transactions. Points will be earned on all transactions except, ‘You will not earn Reward Points on interest
charges; premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance; government charges; bank fees; cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) and card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions’ – ANZ Rewards Terms and Conditions.
