I was advised by an ANZ branch that the points for the ANZ Visa rewards credit card expired within 3 years however the Credit card finder website states that ‘Rewards points never expire as long as your account remains open’, could you please verify this?
Thanks
Chris
Hi Chris. Thanks for alerting to this typo. The page has been updated. According to the ANZ Rewards Visa Card Terms and Conditions, ‘Reward Points must be used to claim a reward within 36 months of 31 December of the year in which the Reward Point were added to a points record. Reward Points that remain unused after that period will be cancelled. In the event your card account is closed, any Reward Points that remain unused must be used within 60 days of the date of closure. Reward Points that remain unused after that period will be cancelled.’ Thanks for your question.
What is the supplementary card holders fee?
Hi,
A supplementary card holders fee is a fee incurred for adding another person to your credit card so they can use it. A supplementary card holder does not have the same level of access as the primary card holder but they can still make purchases. Hope this clears things up.
Cheers,
Jeremy
Do you offer credit cards for temporary residents of Australia? I will soon be an international postgraduate student and would like an Australian credit card.
Hi,
To be eligible for an Australian credit card, most if not all companies require that you are a permanent resident but it would be best to consider speaking to someone at a bank branch in person. There have been instances in the past where users have been able to get a credit card issues while on a Visa. Thanks for your question.
Cheers
Jeremy
Can you tell me if there is an additional charge for more card holders?
Hi Paula,
Yes, there is a fee for each additional card holder plus an additional fee to place that person on the cards reward scheme, so $65 for each new card holder for full access to the cards benefits. Thanks.
Cheers.
Jeremy
Can I apply for this credit card under my company name?
Hi Joel. Thanks for your question. You can’t apply for this card under a company name. But ANZ do offer a business credit card. Please check our business credit card comparison page for further information. Sorry for the late reply. Jacob.
I don’t currently have a qantas membership. I would consider an additional card for my husband – could we link his membership or do I have to get my own one and would there be an additional fee
Hi Mary. If there is an additional cardholder added to the ANZ Rewards Visa Credit Card, they will accrue points for the frequent flyer membership that is linked to the primary cardholder. Each additional frequent flyer membership wil incur an additional membership fee. Thanks for your question.
I’m an existing customer of ANZ and would like to apply for the ANZ rewards card. Is the annual fee of $48 for the first year only or for every year I keep the card? Thanks.
Hi Shelly. Thanks for your question. The annual fee of $48 is charged for the first year only. Every year after that the full fee of $89 a year is payable. Cheers.

Can I earn reward points for paying university fees with this Credit Card?
Hi Christine,
that’s a great question.
According to ANZ points can be earned for paying university fees, as long as there’s no biller code reference number attached to the fee.
I hope this helps,
Marc.
Can you only use the award points with qantas or other airlines.
Thank you
Hi Kerri. According to the ANZ Rewards Website, ‘If you’re already a member with Air New Zealand, Asia Miles™, Singapore Airlines or Velocity Frequent Flyer, or if you’re considering becoming one, your ANZ Rewards lets you redeem your Reward Points for points or miles in these programs.’ Hope this helps.
I am trying to find the balance of points accrued on my Visa card, but your web site keeps rejecting my details { which haven’t change for 10yrs!!
Hi Pamela. How strange. Please contact an ANZ customer service agent to confirm your details and log in information. Jacob.
Do you accrue points on Bpay purchases?
Hi Graeme. Thanks for your question. It depends on the merchant. If the merchant is set up to accept BPAY payments then the transaction will be treated as a purchase. If they aren’t, then it will be treated as a cash advance and you won’t earn points. If you’re having doubts about this, you can call ANZ and they will confirm whether it will be a purchase or a cash advance. Jacob.
Can I put through business expenses i.e. inventory items on this card?
I have seen from previous questions that I can use the card but not claim points. With thanks
Hi James. Thanks for your question. I’m not sure I understand this question. According to the terms and conditions, ‘You will not earn Reward Points on interest charges; premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance; government charges; bank fees; cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) and card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions.’ You can redeem points through the ANZ Rewards Website. Jacob.
Hi James. Thanks for your question. Although this card is intended for personal use, there is nothing that stops you from using it to pay for business inventory items. You an even earn points on these transactions. Points will be earned on all transactions except, ‘You will not earn Reward Points on interest
charges; premiums paid for ANZ Credit Card Insurance; government charges; bank fees; cash advances (as defined in the ANZ Credit Cards Conditions of Use) and card account adjustments resulting from disputed transactions’ – ANZ Rewards Terms and Conditions.
Jacob.
