Best Balance Transfer Credit Card Deals

There are so many credit deals out there at the moment, that deciding which is the best balance transfer deal is going to take some research. To give you an idea of the kind of offers on the table at the moment, here are some of the best.

They should not be taken as a definitive list, but are provided so that you can investigate further, armed with some information to allow you to gauge the marketplace with a bit more confidence.

Citibank Clear Platinum credit card :

A great combined offer of 2.9% p.a. for 12 months on balance transfers. The concurrent period of these deals means you will not get caught out by the adverse order of payments rule, where you end up repaying off your debts at the lower interest first. This is a trap many people fall into when they make a 0% balance transfer and then make purchases at the regular rate of interest. This is therefore a very genuine deal. It offers a credit limit up to $60,000 and an annual fee of $99 , which is not low, but perhaps to be expected given the nature of the dual 0% deal.

Aussie MasterCard:

Another six month deal on balance transfers and purchases, but with a rate set at 9.99% p.a. for 12 months (reverts to 13.29% p.a.), so anything outstanding at the end of the six months will not be hammered. There is also a very respectable $49 annual fee.

ANZ Low Rate MasterCard :

A balance transfer deal at a rate of 0% p.a. for 3 months, although with no concurrent deal on purchases. However, there is a low regular interest rate of 0% p.a. for 3 months (reverts to 13.24% p.a.), and another low annual fee of $58.

St.George Vertigo credit card :

0.99% p.a. for 12 months is the balance transfer credit card deal here, plus a low annual fee of $55 and a great ongoing purchase rate of 13.24% p.a.
