Bankwest More Gold MasterCard review

The Bankwest More Gold MasterCard is a gold standard rewards card that allows you to earn reward 1.5 points every time you make an eligible purchase with the card. There is also an introductory balance transfer offer of 2.99% p.a. on credit card balance transfers for 9 months.

The More Gold MasterCard has an annual fee of $120 and has a foreign transaction fee of 2.95% on overseas purchases. This specific credit card has a minimum credit limit of $5,000. While this is the gold version of this card, there are also the classic and platinum versions of the More credit card, which have their own benefits and features and corresponding fees.

Benefits of the Bankwest More Gold MasterCard

  • Introductory rate of 2.99% p.a. on balance transfers for 9 months. With this offer, Bankwest gives you a discount from their regular 19.99% p.a. balance transfer rate. This allows you to save money while you transfer the balance of another credit card to the More Gold credit card.
  • Consolidate debt and save money with balance transfers. When you transfer the balance of another credit card to your More MasterCard, you may be saving money in the long run, especially if the other card’s interest rate is higher than your More card’s rate. Performing a balance transfer will help you pay down your credit card debt faster by consolidating your cards into one bill. Instead of worrying about paying multiple credit card bills, you will only need to think about only one repayment.
  • Earn everyday reward points. Earn 1.5 points for every $1 you spend on eligible purchases using your Bankwest More Gold MasterCard.
  • Complimentary Credit Card International Travel Insurance. As a Gold credit cardholder, you get to take advantage of international travel insurance for trips that last up to 3 months months. You will have unlimited medical and hospital coverage as well as protection from lost, damaged, or stolen property worth up to $15,000. You will also have coverage for delayed baggages and/or car hires.
  • Up to 3 months of free purchase security cover. As a Gold cardholder, you will have access to purchase protection that will cover up to $125,000 a year. This will protect certain purchases from theft, loss, or accidental damage.
  • Extended warranties on purchased items. You can also get extended warranties on items you purchase for up to 12 months. As long as the item you bought has a manufacturer’s warranty, your credit card will protect the item for an additional 12 months.
  • Purchase price guarantees available. Your Bankwest More Gold MasterCard will also provide you with price guarantees. This means that if you buy an item and find a cheaper price for the same item within 21 days, you can get the difference of the two prices. You can make a maximum claim of $1,000 and a minimum claim of $75.

Hi. Bankwest do not offer car insurance or rental excess cover with their credit card’s insurance policies. ANZ do offer this with some of their cards though. Thanks for writing in and sorry it’s taken an age to reply. Jacob.
