Bankwest Zero MasterCard Review
The Bankwest Zero MasterCard was awarded Money Magazine’s ‘Best Transactor Credit Card’ when compared to other credit cards available to Australians.
Bankwest Zero MasterCard offers you the flexibility and convenience of a credit card without the added cost of paying an annual fee. When you add the benefits of the RewardMe rewards program, you can benefit in several ways.
There are three types of Zero MasterCard you could qualify for: the Bankwest Zero Classic, Zero Gold or Zero Platinum card. All three have no annual fee charged to the account, but there are subtle differences between them that include extra travel insurance and accident insurance protection, as well as offering up to 12 months extended warranty on purchases made with your card.
Bankwest Zero MasterCard Balance Transfer
For a limited time, Bankwest will give you a special introductory rate of 4.99% p.a. for 12 months on balance transfer amounts. This means you could reduce the amount of interest you’re paying on your outstanding debts by simply rolling your balances over to a Bankwest Zero MasterCard. You’ll pay no annual fee and a great low rate that will really make it easier to reduce your debt quickly.
RewardMe Program
You’ll also be eligible to earn reward points when you use your credit card to make purchases. You can redeem your reward points for great consumer items, gift cards and other things that really make this card stand out from the crowd.

reward me program, is it that I do not get a choice of what and when I can use my loyalty points, or is it like junk mail in the post, most of the time trees are killed for no reason because there is no info to compare what one rewards can be
Hi Tom
Thanks for your comment!
Yes you certainly get a choice of what you which offers you would like to go with.
It is more of a loyalty program. When you use your Bankwest MasterCard, you have the opportunity to receive discounts on things like travel, accommodation, gifts, dining and entertainment.

Jeremy
Hi Tom

Hi
I am a UK citizen but live here and have been sponsored on a 457 visa for five years.
Would this mean I could qualify for the card or not?
Thank you
Hi Katie
Thanks for your comment
It is possible in some cases to get a credit card on a 457 Visa, however, you would not be able to apply through the online application for Bankwest.
With this query, it is best to organise an appointment with Bankwest at one of their branches, where you will need to present your 457 Visa for their review.

Jeremy
Would my application & my details be processed in Australia or does it go off shore
Why have they left the minimum income blank? Why is there no information on the minimum income required?
Hi Margaret
Thanks for your question.
Your application would be processed here in Australia.

Most credit cards have direct debit functionality. It is best to ensure that you pay the card off and in full to avoid interest charges

Can I get Qantas Frequent Flyer points by using any one of these three cards. If not – do you offer any cards that can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points with no annual fees
Does this card have international fees in USA? I am Australian travelling to America and would like to know the rate of using my card in America for purchases and cash advances?
So is there no foreign currency conversion fee?
Hi Christian
Thanks for your comment
There is a foreign transaction fee of 2.95% payable for each transaction occurring outside Australia, whether in foreign currency or Australian dollars.

if i applied for this card to use for a balance transfer would this close my previous card with another institution as i want to keep this open as well as getting new card
If I apply for this credit card and get approval, how do I transfer funds from a different credit card over and if I was to close this credit card in the future once paid off, what is the process? Do I have to go into a branch or can it be done over the phone or online?
Hi Katie,
If you were to get approved for this card, to transfer funds across is a relatively simple procedure. It is possible to transferring the outstanding amount through the balance transfer option at a low rate of interest. Please have a look at our article on balance transfers if you have any questions – http://www.creditcardfinder.com.au/how-does-a-balance-transfer-help-save-money.html – Once the balance transfer is complete closing the account is an easy process and can be done over the phone or in person at a Bankwest branch. Thanks for the question, hope this helps.
Cheers
Jeremy
Hi,
Thanks for the question. You do have the option of keeping the account open once the balance transfer has been applied for and processed. Please contact your financial institution for further information. Cheers.
