Accumulating Points
One of the simplest reasons to change rewards card is because you want to accumulate more points. The card you are using now may only offer one reward point per one dollar spent. Know that there are credit cards out there with card rewards programs that offer much more than that. Some credit card rewards programs offer up to three rewards points for every dollar spent. That will add up very quickly and get you on your way to spending those rewards dollars. If you make the decision to change your credit card to a different card rewards program, you may find that you are earning points at a much faster rate.
Customer Service
Credit card companies are notorious for having horrible customer service, but know that there are many companies out there that offer wonderful service. If you current credit card company is lacking in the customer service area, switch! Almost all companies now off rewards programs so if you are not satisfied with the service you are receiving, find a new company.
Interest Rates
One of the main reasons to switch credit card rewards programs is if another credit card company is offering lower interest rates. Let’s face it, if you are going to pay less on something you will, same goes for credit cards. If a credit card company is offering you a lower interest rate and also has a rewards program, it’s a win-win situation.
Before you change your rewards card, always look into the credit card you are thinking of owning. Check the terms and conditions to make sure it’s the right credit card for you.
