The Citi miles rewards program allows you to transfer your points to the Skywards program. Then they are redeemable for flights, upgrades, travel, and high end shopping.

The Citibank Emirates Platinum Card offers a great rewards program, combined with a 1.9% balance transfer for 12 months. The great thing is this card allows you to transfer non-Citibank personal loans, as well as existing credit card debt and store card balances.

The Citi miles program or Skywards is a rewards scheme based on spending. For every one dollar you spend on retail purchases you earn 3 Skyward miles for every $1 you spend. Once you have signed up for the program your points automatically transfer to skyward frequent flyer points within 15 days from the end of your statement period. All you have to do is enroll in the program via the Citibank website.

Citibank rewards program Skywards options:

  • This Citibank rewards program is available to owners of the Emirates Platinum credit card. Skywards is the exclusive frequent flyer program for Emirates.
  • You may redeem your Skywards points for travel with Emirates or any of their partners including Virgin Blue, Continental, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Korean Air, South African Airways, and United Airlines.
    • Emirates will put your points toward both flights and upgrades.
    • Japan Airlines will put them toward Reward flights.
    • Rewards flights are for round trip flights, the exception being upgrades which are for one way flights
    • Rewards are routed to your destination via Dubai. If you prefer other routing you must combine two or more rewards
    • Partner airlines allow one stopover and one turnaround point on most airline partners.
    • Citi miles may be redeemed for rewards anytime they are valid.
    • You may not use rewards ticket coupons out of order
    • Members might be required to provide a copy of their passport and complete an authorization form when they request a reward.
    • Rewards tickets are subject to taxes when they are issued.
    • Rewards ticketed with partner airlines must be completed seven days before departure and can not be changed.
  • You may also use your rewards for the purchase of products from The Emirates High Street. Products available include jewelry, electronics, small appliances, travel accessories, limited edition artwork, gift cards, sporting equipment, toys and much more.
  • Skywards points may also be used for leisure rewards from their hotel and rental car partners. They can also be used for special events or experiences like golf weekends with pros and jet fighter flights.
  • If you are not a Skywards member you can make application by logging on to their website. There is no fee for membership.

Redeeming your rewards is also hassle free. This option allows you to use those rewards that often sit and gather dust.
