In case that I request for 10K Balance transfer, then spend 3k within the first 3 months. What would happen if I made a payment of 3k in the 4th month? Does that payment pay off the 3k spend or the 10k Balance transfer?

      Hi Richard,

      Thanks for your question.

Generally, repayments to credit cards go to the highest rate of interest first. When you use your card to make any purchases, the repayments may apply to purchase transactions first before your balance transfer debt. However, I suggest that you directly confirm this with Citi.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,
      Anndy

      Hi Tristan,

      Thanks for your question.

Basically, there is no fee for closing/cancelling your credit card account. Just keep in mind that as long as no other transactions including Direct Debits that is over the amount of $10 come through after the annual fee date, you won’t be charged the Annual Fee. Please also note that before cancelling and informing Citibank of your decision, you have to settle or fully pay all your outstanding balance. Once you’ve informed them of your decision, you will cease to earn points on eligible transactions and your rewards balance will be cancelled immediately.

      Cheers,
      May

Can the card be cancelled at any time without penalty?

    • Staff
      Anndy | June 15, 2016

      Hi Jess,

      Thanks for your comment.

You can cancel your Citi Qantas Signature Credit Card at any time without penalties or fees, provided that you have totally paid the balance in full. However, please note that this card charges an annual fee and it is payable by the first credit card bill of the year. Even if you cancel your card after less than a year of using it, you will still pay the annual fee.

      Cheers,
      Anndy

      Hi Stephen,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

In the fine prints of Citibank, it does not state that a previous Citibank cardholder whether or not eligible to apply for the Citi Qantas Signature Credit Card and to get the 50,000 bonus points. You’d be best if you inquire with Citibank directly. They could also advise as to when you can re-apply – that is if it’s possible.

Please refer to the contact details of Citibank I’ve sent to your email.
