How To Safely Use Your Credit Card As Cashflow Between Pay Cheques

Posted February 25th, 2010 and last modified April 21st, 2011

Many people use their credit card to help them with cashflow between paychecks, but if you do not use proper credit card management then you can end up in trouble. Take a look at this article to find out how you can use your credit card as a backup, and not have to worry about getting further behind in debt.

When it comes to credit card management, the most important thing you can do is keep track of all your spending and payments. If you do, you will be able to manage your cards easier, and be able to use your credit card as a means of cash flow between your paychecks without worry.

Credit card management

It is not difficult to get a spreadsheet ready and handy so that anytime a purchase or payment is made on your credit card it can easily be written down and recorded. Here are a few more tips for credit card management and using your card as cash flow when necessary.

1. Spend carefully

If you are using proper credit card management, and you know how much you can really afford to pay back, there is no problem using your card between paychecks to help get you by. The problem always begins with overspending and then not being able to meet the monthly obligations to pay back the amount. If you use your card wisely, it will be worth its weight in gold when you absolutely need it to get through to the next paycheck.

2. Pay it back on time

If you are not able to repay all of the balance, you should make sure that you have a low interest credit card so that your debt does not pile up. Always try your best to make your payments on time, even when you are being charged a low rate of interest.

3. Avoid cash advances

Using cash advances on your credit card is just asking for trouble with the high interest rates you will be charged and the fees associated with them. It is better to use your card for all your purchases between paychecks than to take out cash advances that will quickly add up in fees and charges.<

If you want to use your credit card between your paychecks, you won’t get in trouble if you follow the suggestions given above. Credit card management is your responsibility, and if you take it seriously, you can use your credit card to get by when you need to.
