How to Earn More Air New Zealand Air Points
Posted August 10th, 2010 and last modified May 16th, 2011
Earn frequent flyer points even when making non-travel purchases with a Global Plus card.
One of the best Frequent Flyer programs out there right now is the New Zealand Air Points Program.
This frequent flyer rewards program is available with the popular Global Plus credit card.
The Global Plus Card
The great thing about the Global Plus Card is that you can earn frequent flyer points through New Zealand Air Points by making almost any purchase. You can earn points by buying the groceries, paying the electric bill or putting gas in the car. This makes it very easy to earn points.
Global Plus is accepted anywhere in New Zealand that the Visa, MasterCard and American Express card are also accepted. This means that the average New Zealander should be able to use Global Plus almost anywhere. This means that a person should be able to collect frequent flyer points with day to day activities. That gives Global Plus customers a big advantage over members of some other Frequent Flyer programs.
One of the big drawbacks to other frequent flyer programs is that they can only be used for travel related purchases such as plane tickets and hotel rooms. This meant that most people couldn’t take advantage of them, because the average person rarely buys a plane ticket or a hotel room. Any person can now accumulate New Zealand Air Points by using the Global Plus Card.
Air New Zealand Dollars and New Zealand Airpoints
Redeeming New Zealand Air Points is very simple. The first step is to book your flight by phone or online. It’s probably better to book the flight online because you can use all the points you’ve accrued as a block at Air New Zealand’s website.
All you’ll need to do this is the personal access code that you will get with the Global Plus Card. New Zealand Air Points can be used on flights to 750 destinations in 130 countries. This means that you could travel all over the world with New Zealand Airpoints.
Flights aren’t the only thing that you can use the points at when you go with Air New Zealand. The points can be used on car rentals, hotel stays and Koru Club memberships. It is even possible to use the points to send a gift to a friend or family member.
The thing to remember is that you will have to book the hotel room or car rental through the Air New Zealand website. You can access the feature for hotel rooms by clicking on the book now button on the site.
Global Plus and New Zealand Air Points
The New Zealand Air Points program is perfect either for the frequent traveller, or the person who just takes one holiday a year. Both of them can earn points towards that dream holiday they’ve always wanted simply by using their Global Plus Card. Frequent travellers will be able to earn points on business trips while others will be able to earn points in New Zealand. Both types of travellers will be able to use the points when they go on holiday.
