How to Earn More Westpac Altitude Rewards Points

Posted August 10th, 2010 and last modified December 30th, 2011

Westpac’s Altitude credit card is one of the better reward cards because it lets you do more than just earn discounts on airline tickets and hotel stays

The points or Westpac Altitude Points can also be used to purchase select luxury goods available through the Westpac website.

The big advantage to the Westpac Altitude Rewards program is that it has a number of different cards and programs available for different customer. Westpac gives its customers a choice of three different popular consumer credit cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express. These are three of the most popular credit cards in the world and they are accepted almost everywhere.

How the Westpac Altitude Rewards Points Program Works and How to Earn Points

The way Westpac Altitude Points are accumulated depends on which card you choose. Those who get a MasterCard or Visa will accumulate 1 Westpac Altitude Rewards Point for every dollar spent with the card. Since these cards are accepted all over the place, a person should be able to accumulate points with almost every purchase.

The accumulation rate on the Altitude American Express card varies so it would be better to get the Visa or the MasterCard. A person will be able to earn even more points with a Gold or Platinum Card.

Altitude Bonus Partners

One of the best features of the Westpac Altitude Rewards program is Bonus Partners. Bonus partners are businesses that award users of the Westpac Altitude Rewards card, additional bonus points for spending on the card there.

A person can earn one additional Westpac Altitude Rewards Point for every dollar spent with a bonus partner. This effectively doubles the amount of Westpac Altitude Points earned.

Those who get a gold or platinum card will accumulate even more points when they use the card at a business that is an Altitude Bonus Partner.

Those who use the gold or platinum card with a registered bonus partner will accumulate three additional Rewards Points for every dollar spent with the partner. This means that a person can effectively quadruple the amount of Westpac Altitude Rewards Points by getting the gold or platinum card. A list of the businesses that are Altitude Bonus Partners is available at Westpac’s website.
