The Emirates credit card offers a number of perks to attract frequent flyers. Its major feature is that it offers rewards for purchases made using the card in the form of discounts off future flights with Emirates. Of course, these rewards are only applicable to flights booked with Emirates and cannot be converted for airline points with any other airline.Although the reward points can only be converted to airline miles with Emirates, the number of miles that can obtained is 50% greater than the number that can be obtained with other airline frequent flyer programs.
In addition to the ability to gain airline miles, users of the Emirates credit card can obtain other benefits such as free travel insurance and extended warranties on purchases.
Customers of the Emirates credit card can gain access to a concierge service. This service can be used like a PA service for all kinds of things such as booking doctor’s appointments, arranging reservations at a restaurant or even picking up the dry cleaning.
Cardholders also have access to a free chauffeur service for travelling to the airport. There are a few limitations of this service:
- The service can only be used to travel to certain Australian airports
- The service must be used for travelling to the airport to catch an Emirates flight
- The service can only be used once per year for economy class flights, but can be used an unlimited number of times for flights on first or business class.
Overall, the Emirates credit card is an innovate card aimed at high-end frequent flyers. Of course, along with the perks come a hefty annual fee of $229, but many frequent flyers feel that the benefits outweigh the cost of the card.
