Everyday questions about Woolworths Everyday Rewards and Money Everyday

Information verified correct on July 22nd, 2016

Woolworths Everyday Rewards now replaced by Woolworths Rewards

As of October 28 2015, the Woolworths Everyday Rewards program has been replaced by the new Woolworths Rewards scheme. The most notable changes to this loyalty program lie in its treatment of Woolworth points and Qantas points. Petrol discounts remain the same.

In summary, the previous reward system of collecting “Woolworth Points” has now become a “Woolworth Dollar” system, which offers more of an automatic cash rebate than the old way of collecting points for future redemption. With this change, Qantas Frequent Flyer members also earn points in a very different manner.

Commonly asked questions about the Woolworths Rewards scheme

What are Woolworths Dollars?

Woolworths Dollars are the currency of the new Woolworths Rewards program. Each Woolworth Dollar is worth AUD $1 off a future spend. You accumulate Woolworth Dollars by scanning your card when purchasing orange ticket items at Woolworths online, Woolworths supermarkets and BWS stores, excluding Tasmania. These orange ticket items are tagged to indicate how much Woolworth dollar(s) they earn.

When you’ve accumulated 10 Woolworth Dollars, you automatically get $10 off your next transaction in participating stores by scanning your card. There is no limit to the amount of Woolworth Dollars redeemable each time, but you can only redeem them in multiples of 10, and the system automatically redeems them for you whenever you reach $10 Woolworth Dollars.

To earn Woolworths Dollars with Woolworths online, make sure your rewards card is linked to your account by registering your 13-digit card number online at woolworthsonline.com.au under ‘My Account’ and ‘Woolworths Rewards’.

What about Qantas Frequent Flyers?

Given the change in reward scheme, Qantas points are now also earned differently. Previously, Qantas Points were earned on every extra dollar spent above $30 in a transaction.

Woolworths Rewards initially dropped the Qantas partnership, but it was announced in late 2015 that by mid-2016, you’ll have the option to convert your Woolworths Dollars into Qantas Points at a rate of $10 Woolworth Dollars to 870 Qantas Points. If you choose this option, your Woolworths Dollars will be automatically converted into Qantas Points every three months.

Needless to say, your Woolworths Rewards card must be linked to your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership. You can do this online at woolworthsrewards.com.au under ‘My Account’ and ‘Cards & accounts’, or by calling 1300 10 1234 and selecting option 1 (8am–8pm on weekdays, 9am–5pm on weekends).

How about fuel discounts?

The fuel discounts pretty much remain the same. By spending $30 or more and scanning your rewards card during the transaction, a 4c per litre discount will be loaded on your card for use at participating Caltex Woolworths co-branded fuel outlets.

The only difference is that while previously you could earn two Qantas points per litre at the Caltex/Woolworths fuel outlets, this will no longer be possible.

Are there any other perks?

Some other program benefits include online or email product offers that are designed to help boost your Woolworths Dollars balance, and a weekly ‘Scan to Win’ lucky draw that rewards 10,000 shoppers with $10 Woolworths Dollars for simply scanning your rewards card at checkout.

Getting and managing your Woolworths Rewards card

One thing that hasn’t changed is the way you can sign up for the rewards program and manage your account online. You can access all membership services online at the Woolworths Rewards website, including registering as a member, checking your Woolworth Dollars, linking your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership, and getting a card replacement if you’ve lost your card.

Are all my details up to date ? Do I earn frequent flyer points as well?

    • Staff
      May | June 28, 2016

      Hi Dawn,

      Thanks for your question.

Just to confirm, you’ve come through to finder.com.au – we are an Australian financial comparison website and general information service, not actually Woolworths.

If you want to check whether your contact details are updated, simply log in to your online account using your card number or email address and chosen password. Once you’re logged in, click ‘My Account’ then ‘Contact Information.’ You can then amend your personal details by changing the fields as required. To confirm your changes, click ‘Update Details’ at the bottom of the screen.

As for the Qantas points with Woolworths Rewards, Woolworths has initially dropped the Qantas partnership. However, later in the year, you’ll have the option to convert your Woolworths Dollars into Qantas Points.

Nevertheless, from time to time, Woolworths sends an email to their customers about special offers – where you can choose to earn bonus Woolworths Dollars or bonus Qantas Points as your Reward. These are exclusive limited-time offers, which means they’re not always available.

      I hope this has helped.

    • Staff
      May | June 7, 2016

      Hi Ken,

      Thanks for your inquiry.

But please note that Woolworths Dollars can’t be shared to another Woolworths Rewards account. However, you can link other Rewards cards to your account to share fuel discounts.

I’ve gone to every site. I’ve had an everyday card since the beginning and never checked the balance. I don’t remember if I have and I’ve only had access to the net since 2010. God knows where I filled an application form to obtain the card. So no chance of knowing old passwords etc. Where and how do I see how many points I have? I had it too long to not cash in on it!

    Thank you.

      Thanks for getting in touch.

Please note that finder.com.au is a financial comparison and information service and is not Woolworths. It is also beyond our scope to follow up your replacement request with Woolworths.

Nevertheless, as an alternative to calling Woolworths, you can also request a replacement card through their website. I’ve sent you an email with the instruction on how to do it.

      I hope this helps.
