Frequent Flyer Credit Cards with No Points Capping (Unlimited Points Earning) & No Points Expiry

Frequent Flyer (FF) Credit Cards with No Points Capping & No Points Expiry truly rewards you for every dollar spent on the card, unlike other FF cards available today. Very often reward points are capped, and therefore cardholders are not fully rewarded for their loyalty in using their credit card. With unlimited points which can be accumulated and do not expire if the card is kept active and current, it increases the value of the card even if flying is not done as regularly. Cardholders, for example, can therefore spend and accumulate points, and redeem it on long haul flights which they only plan to undertake in 2 years time.

Key Features of the Credit Card

Although no points capping and no expiry points are a unique offering to this card, the FF feature isn’t. In fact, various credit cards with FF rewards are on offer to the consumer from different banks, each with their own bonuses and introductory offers. Each has their own eligibility criteria with personal income and credit rankings usually the primary consideration factor. Gold and Platinum cards are generally a standard offering from most banks, and offer cardholders premium rewards. Typically, a Gold Frequent Flyer Credit Card with No Points Capping & No Points Expiry will have the following to offer:

  • Competitive purchase interest rate is- currently around 20%p.a
  • Interest free purchasing period is usually around 45 days
  • Frequent Flyer points is usually 1 point for each dollar spent

Besides this, banks could offer the following to make their credit cards appear more lucrative:

  • Sign up bonuses or introductory offers
  • Complimentary insurance and warranties
  • Balance transfer options
  • Other reward programs attached to the card

Individuals should, however, always consider the long term cost of the credit card, and not only be persuaded by lucrative introductory offers as they are only limited.

I received notice tonight from Westpac that they are capping Altitude Platinum Credit Cards (MasterCard & Amex combination) at 7,500 points. Can you please advise which rewards credit cards remain (with Frequent Flier Points preferably) which do not cap? Thank you for your help. A

Hi, was just wondering if there are any Business AMEX/Visa cards which have non capped rewards points? We have been with Westpac but have just received notification that they are going to start capping points.
