When searching around for a good deal on a credit card, you will find lots of different exciting sounding terms like, low interest rates, cash back, and the very popular Frequent Flyer points programs. What credit card do we need to earn them, and how do they benefit us?
Frequent Flyer points are awarded to members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program. Members will earn points when they spend money on their credit card, whether it’s on groceries or nights out. These points soon add up, and then can be exchanged by members for various flight and travel rewards, as well as merchandise.
Certain cards vary in the amount of points you are awarded for each dollar spent. For example if you have a gold credit card, you will probably earn more points per dollar, than someone who has a bronze version of the card. Pretty much anything you pay for on these credit cards will add to your Frequent Flyer points tally. You can even earn bonus points if you pay for travel with Qantas, or any other affiliated company.
If you are part of the silver, gold or platinum membership, you will earn bonus points every time you fly on certain Qantas, British Airways, American Airlines and Jetstar flights. This makes these cards perfect for business people, or people who tend to do a lot of travelling throughout the year.<
There are many things you can buy with your Frequent Flyer points. For example:
1. Travel gifts and vouchers
You can spend your points on goods within the Qantas Frequent Flyer Store and other selected outlets.
2. Upgrades on flights
Not happy with your seat on the plane? Upgrade by using your points!
3. The Frequent Flyer Store
The Qantas store is bursting with over 1200 products, including some well known brand names.
4. Flight Bookings
Pay for your seat on your next plane journey by cashing in your points.
5. Exclusive club lounge access
You will get access to 250 members lounges at various airports worldwide.
As you can see these cards are extremely versatile, and give you plenty of choice when it comes to redeeming your points. The chances are you will need a very good credit history to be accepted for one of these cards, and they some companies may only except people who earn above a certain annual salary. So for all you high flyers or jet setters out there, next time you need a new credit card, why not have a look at a Frequent Flyer rewards card.
