How To Pay For Your Next Holiday With Your Credit Card

Posted February 4th, 2010

Discover the benefits of using an ANZ Frequent Flyer credit card to build points towards your next flight or holiday. Understand the advantage of holding two ANZ credit cards on the one account.

Of course, anyone with a credit card can pay for their next holiday with it, but that’s not what we’re talking about here. If you choose the right credit card that has a really useful rewards program, you may be able to finance your next holiday without even handing your credit card over for payment. The simple act of spending on it over the previous months may well have built up sufficient rewards points that you will be eligible to redeem those points for certain travel rewards.

One such card is the ANZ Frequent Flyer. Anyone applying before January 31st 2010 who is approved will automatically receive 10,000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points. That’s a really useful start to your saving up points for a flight on Qantas or any one of its 25 partner airlines. All you then have to do is use your card whenever you need to pay for any purchase or service and watch your Frequent Flyer points mount up, bringing you ever closer to your next holiday. Bear in mind also that you do not have to redeem your points for travel rewards, as there are a variety of rewards available through the Frequent Flyer program.

Two cards, one account

The ANZ Frequent Flyer is not just one credit card, and so the number of points you can earn will vary. Although you will have one account, one credit limit and pay one fee, you will receive an ANZ Frequent Flyer American Express card and an ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa card. With the ANZ American Express card you will earn up to 1.5 points per $1 spent, and on those occasions where Amex is not accepted, you can earn 1 point per $2 spent with your ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa card. Having an American Express card also provides you with access to certain exclusive Amex benefits.

For those customers whose income qualifies them, they may apply for a Gold or Platinum ANZ Frequent Flyer account and earn even more points per dollar. With the Platinum version you will further benefit from such perks as overseas travel and medical insurance, a concierge booking service, and 90-day Purchase Protection.

For anyone who loves to travel, then the ANZ Frequent Flyer credit cards provide the perfect way to build towards a flight or a holiday by doing nothing more than using them for your everyday spending.
