How To Apply For An Aussie MasterCard Credit Card
It is not a difficult process to apply for a credit card with Aussie, and an Aussie MasterCard may be the perfect choice.
This is the process you need to follow to apply for an Aussie MasterCard, and the documents you will need to provide:
The basic requirements to apply for the credit card:
You need to be at least 18 years of age, an Australian resident and earning a minimum $15,000 per annum. Provided you can tick all these boxes, you can start to apply for the credit card.
The documents required to apply for an Aussie MasterCard: To apply for this credit card, you will need to gather together certain documents so Aussie can verify your identification and the state of your finances. These are:
- A driver’s licence – assuming you have one.
- Your employer’s address and contact number. For a self-employed person, you must provide your accountant’s name and contact number.
- Details of your income and assets, which may include any property or vehicles you own.
- Details of your outgoings – any loans you currently have, including those on credit cards and HECS debts.
- How to start your application:
To apply for a credit card, you can:
- Complete an application form online. If you choose this option, after you submit the form to us we will provide you with an answer in principle within just one minute.
- Pick up the phone and speak to an Aussie representative from their customer hotline.
- Apply via an Aussie Mortgage Broker or in an Aussie shop.
- Download an application form and pop it in the mail.
What happens next? After you apply for a credit card with Aussie, Aussie will need to perform a check on your credit history to see if there are any problems. You will be informed by post of the outcome.
If you are approved for the Aussie MasterCard, it may be necessary to carry out further identity checks. This is mandated by the government, and you will be sent an Aussie MasterCard Identity Verification Form, along with a letter explaining exactly how to proceed with it.
Usually, this involves a visit to a post office with evidence of your identity, such as a passport or driver’s licence. The post office employee will then confirm to Aussie that these are genuine. It is also possible that you may be required to show proof of employment or residence.
Once Aussie has possession of the ID form, provided everything checks out, you will receive your Aussie MasterCard within five working days, and your PIN will arrive in a separate envelope.
It should not take longer than seven working days from start to finish. Any additional cards can be requested once the primary card has been activated.
