Earning more Qantas Frequent Flyer points
The national airline of Australia, Qantas, has a Frequent Flyer program that allows members to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points that can be redeemed for free flights. When you want to travel and really can’t afford the cost, this program can really help you out. More and more people are using points to help them get on the holiday they want and need.
There are different ways that you can earn more Qantas Frequent Flyer points and they are listed below.

Credit cards that are linked to the program
This is an easy way to earn more points in this program. When you have a credit card that is linked up to the Frequent Flyer program you will be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points every time you make a purchase with the card. In most cases every dollar you spend on the credit card will give you between one and 1.5 Frequent Flyer points. How many points you will earn depends on which card company you are with.

Earn points while you travel
Every time you travel with either Qantas, Qantas airline partners or OneWorld alliance you will earn more points. That amount of points that you can receive will depend on your membership status, the class of the cabin and how far you travel. There are various airlines that have partnered up with Qantas both internationally and domestically that will give you Qantas membership points. OneWorld alliance has various airlines including Royal Jordanian Airlines, Qantas, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana Airlines, LAN Airlines, Japan Airlines, Iberia Airlines, Finnair, Cathay Pacific, British Airways and American Airlines.

Shop with business partners
There are several business partners that have linked up with Qantas including real estate offices, mobile phone companies, travel agencies, florists and mortgage companies. When you purchase a service or product from one of them you will earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points.

Car rental companies
When you use Thrifty, Hertz, Budget or Avis you will earn points that can later be redeemed. For every dollar you spend you will earn three rewards points in Australia and 700 points at these rental services abroad.

Dining out
There are more than 200 different bars and restaurants in Australia that are linked to the program. For every dollar you spend at these selected establishments you have the potential to earn three points.

Appointed hotels
There are hotels that have been appointed by Qantas as partner hotels and you may earn three points every time you spend a dollar at hotels located in Australia. Staying at partner hotels internationally can earn you as much as 1000 points for your stay.

Selected retail partners
Shop at partner retail outlets such as Woolworths, Big W. or Safeway Supermarkets, to name a few, to earn points. How much you purchase at these outlets will determine how many points you will receive. If you are already a member of the Everyday Rewards program and both programs are linked up you will earn Frequent Flyer rewards points.
Program outline
When you first sign up to become a member of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program you will be a Bronze member. As you work up the levels you will get a higher status and will get better rewards. You can raise your status only by flying with Qantas, Oneworld alliance or selected partner airlines.
Silver membership
You will achieve this status once you earn 350 points for status credit and retain 300.
Gold membership
You can achieve this status by earning 700 points for status credit and retain 600.
Platinum membership
This is achieved once you have earned 1400 points for status credit and retain 1200.
How to redeem points
You can redeem your Qantas Frequent Flyer points by booking flights with partner airlines with Qantas, OneWorld airlines and Qantas. There are no expiry dates on these points and they remain valid if you travel within an 12 month time period at least one time.
