How to apply for a HSBC credit card
There are some basic eligibility requirements if you want to apply for a HSBC credit card. For example, you must have a good credit history and you have to be over the age of 18. Unlike other credit card providing financial institutions, HSBC do offer credit cards to non-temporary residents, however, you may need to speak to a HSBC representative directly if you wish to apply as a non-resident.

How do I get my PIN and how do I change it?
When you apply for a HSBC credit card, your PIN will be issued with the card. Your PIN will arrive in a separate envelope for safety reasons. Once you activate your credit card, you can use the PIN to make purchases and withdraw cash.
If you want to change your PIN for any reason, you can do this by visiting a HSBC branch. It only takes a minute or two to complete the process of setting up a new PIN.
How do I get interest-free credit with HSBC?
HSBC have agreements with a number of merchants that may allow you to get extended interest-free finance. Get the items you want and pay back the balance over a period of six, nine or 12 months without paying any interest. You need to set up an interest-free finance agreement with the merchant if you want to make use of this feature.
Interest-free finance is different to the interest-free days feature on HSBC credit cards.
What’s the minimum repayment on my HSBC Credit Card?
If you’re carrying a balance on your HSBC Credit Card, there’s a minimum amount you need to pay back each month to stop your account from going into default. The minimum monthly repayment is a percentage of your total outstanding balance.

How do I apply for a HSBC balance transfer?
If you want to take advantage of the balance transfer promotion available with HSBC credit cards, generally, you need to be a new customer applying for the credit card.
You elect to transfer a balance from a non-HSBC credit card, store card or charge card within the online application. Enter the name of your financial institution, the amount you want to transfer and details of the account. If you’re approved for the credit card, you’re generally approved to transfer the balance to the account too.
A balance transfer is automatic. Once you activate the credit card, the balance will be automatically transferred by HSBC.
How much can I transfer to my HSBC Credit Card?
The maximum amount you can transfer to a HSBC Credit Card is based on your credit limit. HSBC allow you to use up to your available credit limit towards a balance transfer. For example, if you’re approved for a credit card with a limit of $10,000 you can transfer up to $10,000 from multiple other credit cards, store cards or charge cards.
How do I earn Qantas Points with my HSBC Credit Card?
