Owing a Jetstar Platinum MasterCard is synonym with prestige and status as is with most Platinum cards. These are the main advantages of owning a Jetstar Platinum MasterCard. Compare our featured reward credit cards.
Jetstar Dollars:
The Jetstar Platinum MasterCard awards the customer with 2 cents in Jetstar Dollars for every dollar spent on the credit card. This means you can put your everyday shopping on your card and build towards a flight more quickly. When you’ve accrued 200 Jetstar Dollars, Jetstar will automatically send you a $200 Jetstar Flight Voucher direct to your email inbox. Or if you want to redeem your Jetstar Dollars earlier, you can redeem them in increments of 25 Jetstar Dollars. Flight must be booked with three months of receiving your voucher, and taken within six months. Domestic or international destinations are on offer, and your vouchers can be used as part or full payment for the flights.
Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards:
If you opt-in to the Qantas Frequent Flyer Rewards program you will earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points instead of Jetstar Dollars. If you are an existing Qantas Frequent Flyer member you need to call Jetstar after your application has been successful and you can start earning points immediately. Complimentary Membership is provided for new or existing Jetstar Platinum MasterCard customers.
On balance transfers:
You could save hundreds of dollars in interest by consolidating all your credit cards onto your Jetstar Platinum MasterCard, because there is a balance transfer offer allowing you to pay from the date of approval. By transferring the balance to your Jetstar Platinum MasterCard, you are able to divert that little bit extra towards paying off your debt sooner, rather than paying off interest.
Avoid card payment fees:
Whereas booking flights with a credit card will normally attract transaction fees, you can avoid these when you pay for your Jetstar flights online or through Jetstar Telephone reservations with your Jetstar Platinum MasterCard. Compared to paying with other credit cards, this can amount to a saving of $26 for a family of four on every return domestic flight, and $40 on every return international flight.
Low regular rate of interest for a platinum credit card:
The Jetstar Platinum MasterCard offers 19.99% p.a. on purchases.
55 days interest-free:
The Jetstar Platinum MasterCard offers up to 55 days interest-free on purchases, allowing the customer to pay no interest at all if they always pay off their balance in full every month.

Can I have an automatic payment each month from my St George bank account
Hi,
Setting up an automatic debit agreement from your St.George online account to a Jetstar Platinum Mastercard is a simple process and must be managed through your St.George Internet banking account. When you are in your online account, automatic payments can be handled through the ‘scheduled payments’ tab on the left of the screen. Thanks.
Cheers

can I request balance transfer in this account if i open it under my name to pay my wife’s credit card (under her name).
Hi,
Good question. It is my understanding that a balance transfer can only be conducted from your own name so your wife will have to open the account. Otherwise this shouldn’t be an issue. Cheers.

with the jetstar platinum mastercard, when it says you are covered for travel insurance, is that just the card holder or does it also include a spouse or immediate family?
Hi,
This also includes your spouse and any dependent children you may have up to ages of 18 or 21 depending on their study and living circumstances. For further information please consult the insurance policy terms and conditions found here – http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/~/_media/Jetstar%20Australia/Files/PDF/Cards/MCS020_BKL0319_JetstarConditions_FINAL.pdf – Thanks for the question.

Max credit limit on this card is 100K. What is the criteria to increase credit limit. What is the turn around time to increase a credit limit and reduce credit limit?
Hi Dan. When you apply for a credit limit increase. it will count as an enquiry mark on your credit file. Normal criteria apply — you apply for a set amount, the bank will accept or decline based on whether they think you can handle the debt. Turn around can be the same day to two business days. To decrease your credit limit, you just have to ring the bank and tell them by how much — this is generally applied to your account the same day. Thanks.
I pay 4 tickets to go overseas use the Jetstar Platinum Master Card i need a travel insurance how I can apply ?
Hi Julio. Thanks for your question. The terms and conditions outline what you must do to be automatically covered by the Jetstar Platinum MasterCard overseas travel insurance policy: “Overseas travel insurance is a benefit available to current Jetstar Platinum MasterCard Cardmembers who obtained their return overseas travel tickets prior to leaving Australia on their Jetstar Platinum MasterCard Account. It is also available to the cardholder’s Spouse and the cardholder’s Dependent Children, who travel with the cardholder for the entire journey, provided their return overseas travel tickets were obtained by use of the cardholder’s eligible Jetstar Platinum MasterCard Account. The cover is available for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days and cannot be extended. However if your return to Australia is delayed because of events covered under this policy, or Your scheduled transport back to Australia is delayed for reasons beyond Your control, the period of insurance will automatically be extended for a period of up to four (4) weeks or until You return to Your home in Australia, whichever occurs first.” Hope this helps.
