Latitude Financial Services credit card benefits

Getting a credit card through Latitude Financial Services comes with its share of advantages, and here’s what you can look forward to as a Latitude Financial Services cardholder:

  • Hardship provisions

The Latitude Financial Services Hardship team is in place to provide assistance to cardholders in the event they have difficulties in keeping up with their payments. If you feel you’re having trouble making timely repayments, get in touch with them as soon as possible, and they can help establish alternative payment arrangements.

  • Visa & MasterCard perks

Both, Visa and MasterCard, find global acceptance so you can use your credit card while travelling overseas. MasterCard’s PayPass and Visa’s payWave technologies enable cardholders to make contactless payments for under $100. Both, MasterCard and Visa, make use of multiple layers of security to provide cardholders peace-of-mind when they use their cards in-store, online, or over the phone.

  • Ongoing interest-free finance

Not many credit card issuers give you the ability to avail of long-term interest-free periods, and this is something you can look forward to when using a suitable Latitude Financial Services credit card. A growing number of retailers are part of Latitude Financial Services’ retailer partner list, so you can expect to buy just about anything you need and save on interest.

  • Earn points as you spend

If you use a Latitude Financial Services card linked to the Myer one rewards program, you earn MYER one shopping credits that you can use to make purchases, and this program offers other benefits as well. Through the Go rewards program, you earn reward points based on your spending, which you can redeem for a variety of merchandise.

Latitude Financial Services credit cards features

The features that come with a Latitude Financial Services card depends on the product you choose, because while certain basic features remain the same, some features are limited to particular cards. If you’re considering applying for a Latitude Financial Services credit card, here’s what you can expect:

  • No annual fees. The GO MasterCard and the 28 Degrees Platinum MasterCard do not charge any ongoing annual fees. With the Go MasterCard, you’ll have to pay an establishment fee and a nominal monthly account keeping fee.
  • Interest-free purchases. If you choose the right card, you can benefit by making interest-free purchases. With the Gem Visa card, you can make use of up to six months interest-free periods when you make purchases of more than $250 at participating merchants, and some retailers offer even longer interest-free terms. You can also look forward to extended interest-free terms when you use the GO MasterCard to make purchases at participating retailers.
  • Rewards. If you wish to earn rewards as per your spending, you can consider getting a rewards card, and with Latitude Financial Services, you can choose from cards linked to different reward programs. You can get a card linked to the Myer one rewards program or the GO rewards program.

Have a look at our credit card comparison tables to see whether a Latitude Financial Services credit card offers a balance transfer. If the credit card has a balance transfer promotional interest rate displayed in our tables and on our review pages, you can transfer a balance online when you apply for the credit card.

Some Latitude Financial Services cards allow cardholders to make use of promotional balance transfer rates that stay in place for given time periods.

What will my credit limit be?

Your credit limit is calculated on the ratio between how much you earn and your expenses. Your credit limit is based on more than your income. Factors like whether you own your home, dependent children, investments and other loans all play a part determining your credit limit.

There’s no way to accurately tell what your credit limit will be. You can make an estimate based on the maximum credit limit assigned to you in the past.

Call Latitude Financial Services to request a credit limit increase. The new limit is calculated on the same criteria as when you applied. If you accepted the maximum credit limit when you originally applied for the credit card and your circumstances have not changed, you may not be eligible for a credit limit increase.

Do Latitude Financial Services credit cards offer interest -free days?

Yes, Latitude Financial Services cards give cardholders the ability to make use of interest-free days on purchases, which can vary in between 55 days and 62 days, depending on the card you use.

Do Latitude Financial Services charge an overlimit fee?

Latitude Financial Services do not charge a fee if you spend over your credit limit.

How can I register for the Online Service Account?

Before you can view your Latitude Financial Services credit card transactions and manage your account online, you need to register for the Online Service Centre. The process takes a couple of minutes to complete and you will need your account details from a recent statement.

Once you’ve registered for the Online Service Centre, you’ll be able to view e-statements, set reminders to pay your credit card and view credit transactions.

How can I activate my credit card?

Once you get your Latitude Financial Services credit card, activate it by calling the Latitude Financial Services Customer Care Centre (1300 721 386). You can start shopping right away when you card is activated.

Does Latitude Finance have any plans to enter into partnership with retail in the South East Asia market? What about E-Commerce platforms?

      Hi Nina,

      Thanks for your question.

Please note that you’ve come through finder.com.au an online comparison service and does not represent Latitude Finance.

For now, there are no official statements yet regarding any partnership within South East Asia market. You may need to contact Latitude Finance marketing team directly for that information.

You may wish to check the different credit cards available to use in Southeast Asia here.

      I hope this helps.

Can people with poor credit still get a credit card?

    • Staff
      Jonathan | June 15, 2015

Hi Peter, thanks for your inquiry!

There are no specific credit card products provided for individuals with poor credit. Your eligibility for a credit card will depend on whether you meet the application criteria and lending requirements of the bank. You may like to refer to bad credit personal loans.

    Hi All,
    Good day to you.
Like to know whether if I purchased air-ticket using my GE Coles MasterCard, would it already covered the travel insurance so I do not have to buy again.
Appreciate if you could kindly answer this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Rey

      Hi Darren,

      Thanks for your question.

You’ll need to check the expiry date on your card to see if it has expired. If it has, you will need to get in contact with GE Money to find out about renewing your account or whether you’ll need to apply for a new one.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth

Why cant I use my GE credit card at the Westpac branch in Mt Gambier to make a withdrawal. Why can I only make withdrawals at the ATM and you are charging me $30 for a $1,000 withdrawal!

    • Staff
      Jacob | March 25, 2014

      Hi, Anne.

If you’re withdrawing $1000 from your available credit limit through a cash advance facility, you’ll incur a 3% charge, which is $30.

      Thanks for your question.
