Lowest Rate VISA & MasterCard Credit Cards – Compare & Apply Online

Posted September 11th, 2009 and last modified December 14th, 2009

Getting your hands on a low interest rate Visa or MasterCard credit card is not as hard as you think. We have performed the comparison for you and have presented our choice of the best low interest Visa and MasterCard in this guide.

In fact, I’ve gone and sorted through all the credit cards on the market to show you the ones with the best rate, whether you need the lowest rate Visa or the lowest rate MasterCard.

What I also found that sometimes a card looks really promising but upon closer inspection some of the features can be a bit of a let off. You should also take into account that the very best lowest rate is always the one costing you the least.

So if you are among the few who can manage a credit card without going into debt chances are you already have the best card for your needs. For all others, let’s check out the selection of lowest rate cards below.

Introducing the lowest rate Visa and the lowest rate MasterCard:

Both Visa and MasterCard produce some top quality credit cards no doubt. When comparing the two providers against each other you’ll often find very similar deals. But when a credit card comparison really matters is when you are acquiring credit card debt on a regular basis, meaning you don’t pay off your card in full each month.

This is when it become essential to deal with and use the lowest rate card simply for the fact that you’ll be saving hundreds if not thousands of dollars in interest thanks to a lower rate.

Best lowest rate Visa card: The Citibank Clear Platinum Visa Card is the best performing low rate Visa card.

  • Get a low 10.99% p.a. interest rates on purchases.
  • A 0% p.a. cash advance rate of six months make this card great for balance transfers from existing and expensive cards.
  • Receive up to 55 days interest free days.
  • The card can be had for a $85 annual fee. Admittedly, this card fee is a little on the upside, but I think when you look past it and study the features of the Citibank Platinum Visa Card in detail you’ll soon see what I mean when I say this is the best lowest rate Visa on the market today.
  • Benefit from other cool features such as discount shopping and entertainment and travel insurance.

Best lowest rate MasterCard: Like Visa, MasterCard offers great card deals for consumers. While picking through the card heap I found the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard. See for yourself by looking at the card’s features:

  • A standard purchase rate of 12.49% p.a
  • 0% p.a. balance transfer rate for 6 months.
  • A competitive low $58 annual fee.
  • Up to 55 interest free days on purchases.
  • MasterCard Applause – be entertained with exclusive tickets to theatre, dance, musicals and sporting events.

By looking at both lowest rate cards above my choice is clear. I would definitely opt for the ANZ Low Rate MasterCard thanks to the low annual fee simply because I manage my debt by not getting into it in the first place.

If on the other hand I had existing credit card debt I’d choose the Citibank Platinum Visa for its low interest rate in purchases. Either card is a great choice for choosing the lowest rate card depending if you manage debt well or not.
