Enrich is the frequent flyer program associated with Malaysia Airlines. It has several different levels providing opportunities to accumulate points and acquire free travel.

Malaysia Airlines – the company

Malaysia Airlines is government owned and is the flag carrier airline for Malaysia. One of its claims to fame is having flown in 1997 the longest non-stop commercial flight in the world from Seattle to Kuala Lumpur.

Flying with Malaysia Airlines

The main hub for Malaysia airlines is to be found at Kuala Lumpur airport with a second at Kota Kinabula. They also have a headquarters based in Selangor at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport. Whilst a relatively small airline, compared to some of the other major players in the airline industry, Malaysia Airlines have still managed to make their mark by being awarded a 5 star status by Skytrax; there are only six airlines that have been awarded this status and they are also being listed as an a Quality Approved Airline by Skytrax.

Malaysia Airlines has made its presence most known in the all of the Asian and Middle East areas in addition to routes between Australasia and Europe. However they do operate a flight to Los Angeles from Kuala Lumpur, which opens up a route from the East to the United States. People that fly frequently within and around the East will stand to gain the most benefits from being a member of the Malaysia Airlines’ Enrich program.

Although they have a reputation as a top quality airline, Malaysia Airlines launched an Everyday Low Fares program in 2008, which gave low budget customers more opportunities for travel. The scheme is available on all domestic routes which Malaysia Airlines and its subsidiary Firefly operate. This has put travel options within the reach of many that could not have afforded flights prior to the program being introduced.

Membership features

Membership in the Malaysia Airlines Enrich program consists of four levels being; Blue, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Points can be earned by members in each level, which are counted towards both gaining more flights and moving up a level. When you become a Gold or Platinum member this gives you automatic access to the Enrich lounges, although lower level members can access these lounges by purchasing their entry.

Malaysia Airlines has 14 international lounges, all of which provide food and drink to the Enrich members. Many of the lounges are equipped with business centres, crèches for children and slumber rooms all with the intention of helping to provide a stress free journey for their customers.

Enrich points value

In line with other frequent flyer programs there are many ways to earn points with Enrich. Points are accumulated every time a member flies with Malaysia Airlines or any subsidiary airlines or partners; this gives the customer a wider choice for their preferred carrier and enables them to select lower fare flights if they are available.

Points can also be accumulated from purchases made with a number of Malaysia Airlines partners. There is an extensive range of options available including travel accessories, accommodation, car rentals, and day to day lifestyle products and holiday packages.

Flying with Malaysia Airlines you can also earn Velocity Reward Points.

There is one unique facility available the Malaysia Airlines Enrich program in that several members can transfer points between accounts for a small fee. This enables families or friends to pool their points to achieve bigger savings on flights and rewards.
Membership criteria

There is no restriction on joining the Malaysia Airlines Enrich program and it is available to all ages and nationalities. Having no membership or joining fees makes this an attractive option to many customers.

Hi Matthew. Contact enrich to get your membership number, which you enter when you’re applying for a new card, so you can link your card to your rewards account. Thanks for your question.

      Hi Yvonne,
      That is an excellent question.

Enrich points are earned after the completion of a flight, so as long as Enrich membership is completed before travelling, points will still be earned.

      I hope this helps!
      Marc.

Can enrich points be transfered to velocity?

      Hello Robert,
      thanks for the question.

Unfortunately we know of no way Enrich points can be swapped for Velocity points, or for any other frequent flyer program for that matter. Generally speaking frequent flyer programs won’t allow you to convert your points into other frequent flyer program points.

      I hope this helps,
      Marc.

Hi Eric. Thanks for your question. If you become of a member of the Enrich Frequent Flyer Rewards Program, you can transfer rewards points with certain credit card providers over to your Malaysia Airlines Membership. You won’t be able to get any Rewards Credit Card and earn points with this Frequent Flyer Program though. Please check this page for a list of rewards programs that let you transfer to the Enrich Program. Jacob.

Hi Lorelei. Thanks for your question. You will have to log in to your online account through the Malaysia Airlines website to find out about your account. We are a comparison service and do not have access to that information. According to the Enrich FAQs, ‘Enrich Miles are valid for the year in which they are earned, plus an additional 3 years, and will expire at the end of the third year. For example, Enrich Miles credited to an account from 1 January – 31 December 2013 will expire on 31 December 2016.’
