Mobile phone banking solutions are the new breed of consumer banking behaviour as the mobile phone industry grows from strength to strength. We are increasingly becoming a cashless society with credit cards and PIN numbers replacing the old cash in the wallet. As we travel lighter and faster we spend less time in banking queues (and who would want to anyway) in order to save time and money. This is where mobile phone banking cuts to the mustard.
Mobile phone banking lest you make transfers in a rush while you are out and about:
As we go about our everyday duties with work, family and the little play most of us get we don’t have time to waste to make deposits, check bank accounts, pay bills or transfer funds. With increased pressures at work and at home many of us are looking to fast solutions to deal with the necessities of life – we want convenience – and that’s where mobile phone banking solutions come in very handy.
Which Australian banks offer mobile phone banking?
Not all Australian banks currently offer mobile phone banking solutions to their customers. Remember, we are still in the early days of a technical revolution and as time goes by more of the banks will acknowledge the need to serve a growing demand – unless they want to see their clients join the competition.
From what I have learned the following banks offer mobile banking access:
- ANZ
- Commonwealth Bank
- Suncorp
- HSBC
- Bank of Queensland
- NAB
- Citibank (trial)
- Community First Credit Union
Banks that support iPhone banking:
I found the following banks that support iPhone banking for those of you who own one.
- Westpac
- St. George
- BankSA
- NAB
- ANZ
- Commonwealth
- Suncorp is currently working on upgrades.
- Community First Credit Union
Please understand that above suggestions could change at any time as Australian banks are consistently updating and changing their banking environment which also includes mobile phone banking solutions.
One thing is clear though, whether you bank with your iPhone, or any other mobile phone, thanks to a range of products and tools on the market life can be pretty darn easy when you are in a rush. The one downside to the industry is security as virtual networks can be hacked unless you know how to surf safely while doing your mobile phone banking. Unless you can be absolutely certain you are surfing in a safe environment there is always a risk in using convenience tools to deal with financial data.
