In many cases balance transfers are the key to getting relief from mounting credit card debt.

Commonly asked questions about an nab balance transfer:

  1. How does a balance transfer work and what is it? A balance transfer is the process of moving your balance from one credit card to another. When you apply for your nab credit card you can also choose to transfer these debts to the new cards. The transfer amount must be at least $200 to qualify for a transfer.
  2. Why should I do an nab balance transfer? It is done to get a lower interest rate so that you can pay down your debt. Spending less on interest allows you to pay your debt off more quickly which also save you money. It also moves your finances in to one account that simplifies money management.
  3. Is it difficult to apply for a balance transfer? No it is not difficult. When you apply for either the Low Rate Visa, Velocity, or Visa Mini you simply fill out the balance transfer section in the online card application. You can transfer balances from up to two non-NAB cards.
  4. What should I have on hand when I fill out my application? You will need to know the card issuer that you want to transfer your balance from, the type of card it is  (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), your credit card number, and the amount you would like to transfer.
  5. Once I have transferred my balance is my previous credit card closed? No, you will have to make arrangements with the old credit card company to close your account
  6. How long does my introductory balance transfer rate last? Usually they last up to six months from the time you make the transfer or when you pay it off if it is before the promotional period runs out.
  7. What if I do not pay off my balance before the promotional period ends? If you there is any amount remaining on the balance transfer when the promotion expires it will incur the lowest interest rate associated with cash advances for the card you own. Please note that this is often not the same as the purchase interest rate.

Getting out of credit card debt is difficult for everyone. An NAB credit card  balance transfer can ease that burden by giving you some time to pay towards your actual balance rather then to the interest on your balance. Even though it is a relatively short period of time you will be surprised at how quickly your debt will dwindle with a low rate balance transfer. All you have to do is apply for the credit card and then make certain that you pay your bill each month on time and you will be on your way to being free of credit card debt.
