NAB Frequent Flyer Credit Cards
Posted November 8th, 2011 and last modified February 25th, 2013
Frequent flyer credit cards have always been popular with those that jet off round the world more than a couple of times a year. They’re especially championed by the business community and self-employed workers who travel abroad on business.
But is it just the rewards that these business people look for, or are there other factors that affect which card they put in their wallet?
We spoke to a couple of regular frequent flyer credit card users about the range of cards offered by NAB, and to see whether any of the cards offered by Australia’s national bank would take their fancy.
NAB Frequent Flyer Credit Cards
Meet Geoff
Geoff Brittain is a 42 year old business consultant from Melbourne. He’s married with two children and spends much of his time travelling around the world helping clients grow their businesses.
“I probably travel abroad at least twice a month so it really made sense for me to look at a frequent flyer reward card. I know that NAB do some pretty good deals so I was more than happy to see what they offered” he explains.
We showed Geoff the NAB Qantas Rewards Premium credit card. This is a card that comes with a balance transfer rate of 4.99% for 6 months, lots of free insurances, and a dedicated customer service team available 24 hours a day.
“I love the fact there are so many free insurances that come with this card. Travel insurance can be expensive so knowing I have that on top of the free flight inconvenience insurance is a real plus. I also like the fact there’s a team of assistants around the clock in case I get into trouble anywhere.
The annual fee of $250 a year is quite high but the service you receive is well worth the money, as well as all the free flights I’ll earn myself!” he says.
If he is worried about the annual fee then Geoff’s in luck because there are other cards in the range with lower annual fees, and just as many extras.
Meet James
James Hill is a 29 year old IT specialist from the west coast. He only travels a few times a year but still feels he can benefit from a frequent flyer credit card. We showed him the NAB Qantas credit card.
“I’m really impressed”, he exclaims.
“I currently have an outstanding balance on my old credit card so having a balance transfer rate of 4.99% for 6 months will save me a packet on charges. I don’t use my credit card that much, but when I do it’s nice to know I get points towards my yearly trips.”
The low annual fee on this card of just $65 means that even if James doesn’t use his card that often it won’t cost him a fortune to run.
“What I like about NAB in general is their products are all really flexible. This card gives you the opportunity to have an additional card holder for free which means my other half can earn me points too!” he smiles.
It seems that regardless of whether you spend your working life plane hopping, or just make the odd business visit abroad, NAB will have a frequent flyer credit card to suit your needs.
