Hi i am thinking of a balance transfer to your qantas FF Gold card. I am already a QFF member and i note your complimentary $82.50 membership which i do not require. Is there any other discount or fee you can waive or reduce EG say 75% of the annual fee ? regards Graeme

      Hi,

Thanks for the question. In our experience, there haven’t been any widely publicised instances of further discounts, although it cannot hurt to ask.

    To Whom it May Concern,

I am looking to consolidate my 3 credit cards which in total are around $20,000 and i was just wondering what your limit on this card would be. We are travelling to America in August and i am searching for a good card to use while we are abroad. Your prompt reply would be greatly appreciated on this matter.

    Kind Regards
    Paul Carpenter

    • Staff
      Jacob | August 1, 2012

Hi Paul. You can consolidate the balance of more than one card provided the balance is no more than 70% of the approved credit limit on your new card. The credit limit is determined by the information you provide to the bank during the application. For further information on travel-friendly money, please refer to our travel money page. Thanks for your question.

Is there a balance transfer fee?

    • Staff
      Jeremy | February 10, 2012

      Hi,

No there are no balance transfer fees for this card. To take advantage of the low rate the balance transfer must be processed at the time of the card application. Please note that whilst there is no balance transfer fee, the balance transfer interest rate still applies and is payable on the balance transferred. Thanks.

      Cheers

I earn 47,000 per year, I do have a credit card for 1,000 with you and I want to do a balance transfer of 9,000 is it possible

    • Staff
      Jacob | April 9, 2013

Hi Marie. Thanks for your question. This is a question to ask NAB. You can only balance transfer up to 70% of your available credit limit, so with your current limit that would be a transfer of $700. You can apply for a credit limit increase, but approval is subject to NAB’s lending criteria. Sorry for the delay in this response. Jacob.

      Hi,

It is possible to transfer the balance of two cards over to the NAB Premium Card provided that the complete amount you wish to transfer is less than 70% of your agreed credit limit and they are not NAB store or credit cards. Cheers.

They do allow you to transfer the balance from someone else’s name to your own name under a promotional rate of interest though. For more information on credit cards that allow joint primary cardholders, please check this page. Sorry for the delayed response. Thanks for the question. Jacob.

      Hi,

Thanks for the question. The following is taken from the NAB Insurance cover terms and conditions: “NAB cardholders under 90 years of age are eligible for
cover under the Overseas Travel Insurance Plan. Limits to cover and sum insureds apply to NAB cardholders who are aged between 75 years and under 90 years of age at the time of your loss.” Hope this has helped.

The complimentary travel insurance will cover your spouse. Hi Julia,

NAB doesn’t allow you transfer personal loans onto the card, but they do have other options for consolidation of debt if you have a personal loan with NAB. Also, Citibank funded credit cards allow you to transfer the balance of a personal loan. Cheers

    • Staff
      Jacob | March 27, 2013

Hi Gladys. It will not mean a failed application, just that you won’t have access to the amount of credit you wanted. If you’re applying for a balance transfer, you won’t be able to transfer the full amount. You can always request a credit limit increase, however, you may not be approved. Thanks.

Hi Pankaj. Thanks for your question. There are no fees for carrying out a balance transfer. The only amount you will have to pay is the balance transfer rate of interest and the minimum monthly repayment (this must be paid each month to keep your account in good standing).

      Hello Shanta,
      thanks for the question.

Regardless of if you choose MasterCard or Visa for the NAB Premium you’ll get the same benefits. It’s a question of your preference for Visa or MasterCard. They both offer Emergency travel assistance, fraud protection and an experiences hotline (MasterCard Priceless and Visa Privileges), and a high acceptance rate across the globe.

      I hope this helps,
      Marc.

Hi, I started new full-time employment around 5 months ago, and earn a salary of $52,000 per year.

I was in full-time employment prior to that on $60,000; and I’m now in a different industry.

In your experience, do you believe my Income & time-in-job will be enough to gain Approval for a $5K approx Balance Transfer? (assume no other debts).

I don’t want to ‘ruin’ my Credit History by getting it checked and then my overall App declined on Income/job reasons – that doesn’t look good for future Apps.

    Thanks so much!

Hi Paul. Thanks for your question. The following is taken from the NAB balance transfer terms and conditions page: ‘The nominated account is a non-NAB credit card or store card account issued in Australia (debit card accounts are not acceptable)’. Citibank are one institution that allows the balance of a personal loan to be transferred to their credit card. Cheers.

Hi All – thanks for all your questions.

There have been some questions in this thread about balance transfers to this product.

We’ve just been informed by a spokesperson at NAB that the maximum balance transfer percentage for any card is 70% of the approved credit limit, so if you have a $1000 credit limit on your new card, you’d be able to transfer a maximum of $700 from other non-NAB credit cards

We hope this information helps you with your research and comparison.

      Jacob | September 4, 2012

Hi Joseph. Thanks for your question. In order to transfer the balance from one credit card to another taking advantage of a low introductory rate of interest, you will need to transfer the balance between two non-related credit cards. Please check our balance transfer comparison page for a comparison of the market’s balance transfer credit cards. Cheers.

    • Staff
      Jacob | September 12, 2012

Hi Kim. Thanks for your question. You will be charged 1% interest on any balance brought over to the card. Interest is calculated daily but charged per statement period. The minimum repayment each month is 2.5%. Cheers.

    • Staff
      Jacob | October 4, 2012

Hi Clint. Thanks for your question. To be eligible for a balance transfer at a low rate of interest, you will need to carry out a balance transfer to a non-NAB credit card. Balance transfers will not be accepted between two NAB credit cards. For a comparison of the market’s balance transfer credit cards, please refer to our balance transfer credit card comparison page. Alternatively, you can also check our low-rate credit card comparison page for a card with a low rate. Cheers.

    Hi there
I am a discharged bankrupt and the bankruptcy no longer shows on my credit file.
I want to apply for a credit card in order for me to get my credit rating back to what it should be.
I have a full time job, no debt and have learnt valuable lessons after becoming bankrupt which was the only option for me at that time.
I just need for someone to give me a go and let me prove that I can be trusted with credit.
If I was to apply for a credit card through NAB what are the chances of it being approved, at a higher rate if need be.
I don’t want to waste anyone’s time by completing applications as I know each time you apply it appears on your credit file.
Would appreciate someone getting back to me.

Does nab allow account balance transfers (personal loans) from another bank.

    • Staff
      Jacob | December 10, 2012

Hi Nat. According to the NAB balance transfer terms and conditions, in order to a balance transfer to be successful, ‘The nominated account is a non-NAB credit card or store card account issued in Australia (debit card accounts are not acceptable) and is not in default (e.g. overdue or over-limit) under its applicable terms and conditions on the date of this balance transfer request or at the date request is processed.’ But NAB do offer debt consolidation loans, you may want to consider this option if you’re not eligible for a balance transfer. Cheers.

Hi Mary. Thanks for your question. Generally speaking, a premium and platinum product are one in the same thing. NAB does not offer a platinum card, rather they have a premium card, which is similar to other bank’s platinum credit cards. If you would like to get back to me with a specific platinum credit card, I can help you compare that card with the NAB Premium Credit Card. Jacob.
