Credit Card Finder Featured in The Age – August 16, 2009
Credit Card Finder was featured on an article about balance transfer cards by the Age newspaper “Free yourself from plastic”. The article covered the need for Australians to assess their financial situation and counteract debt with a balance transfer card, preferably a 0% card to get on top of debt.
According to recent figures released in the article some 71 per cent of Aussies with a mortgage struggle to pay off their credit cards. Compared to this was the national average of 52 per cent which is still high enough.
With the recent interest rate hikes by the Reserve Bank we are only at the beginning of a long road up. This means rates will increase more and more leaving people already in debt in even bigger financial woes.
Our Prime Minister also had to share his pearls of wisdom, saying between “1996 and 2007 our credit card debt increased by 460 per cent.”
Whoa!
The 0% balance transfer card is certainly a ‘get out of jail free’ card if used correctly by the consumer. The problem is that less than 30 per cent of Australians who struggle with debt are aware of these balance transfer cards and what you don’t know you can’t utilise, right?
This is where we come into the picture because we consistently analyse the Australian credit card market to bring you the best deals with value for your money.
We don’t hold back and our tongue is occasionally very sharp.
