Qantas And St.George Announce New Partnership

On Monday, Qantas and St.George Bank proudly announced their new Amplify partnership with the launch of the Amplify Rewards credit card. Unlike other rewards credit cards, the Amplify card allows consumers to choose between two rewards programs, the Amplify Rewards or the Amplify Qantas.

When new card owners link their credit card to the Amplify Qantas program they can earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points on eligible purchases. They earn 1 point per $2 spent. Each month the customer will automatically be credited with the points earned for that month.

The Amplify Rewards program on the other hand can earn consumers lifestyle rewards such as movie tickets, technology, gift cards, home appliances, wine, fitness equipment, flights and accommodation with Amplify Travel and lots more.

St.George Bank’s Chief Executive, Greg Bartlett said, "We’re delighted to partner with Qantas Frequent Flyer and offer the market a rewards card that gives people the ability to choose between reward programs and all within the one credit card account."

Simon Hickey, Chief Executive of Qantas Frequent Flyer, said, "We look forward to a strong, successful relationship with St.George Bank. Qantas Frequent Flyer is Australia’s leading loyalty program with 6.9 million member accounts and a wide range of partners."

  • Amplify Rewards: 2 Amplify points per $1 on eligible purchases
  • Amplify Qantas: 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $2 on eligible purchases

St.George further offers new card owners access to the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership free of charge (a saving of $82.50) if they are not existing members yet.

Amplify Rewards Credit Card features:

  • Annual card fee of $79
  • Choose your preferred rewards program free of charge
  • Unlimited points earning
  • Low balance transfer of 0.99% p.a. for 6 months
