Online Credit Card Approval

Posted March 10th, 2010 and last modified December 29th, 2011

Getting an online credit card approval can be a very simple process, as long as you have the right information available. Before you begin filling out an online application for your own credit card, there are some things you should have handy to make the process simpler for you. Compare some of the leading credit cards with fast approval.

Gaining A Fast Online Credit Card Approval

An online credit card approval should be relatively quick and easy, but if the information you provide on the online application is incomplete, then you could delay the process unnecessarily.

Some of the information you will need handy in order to complete your online credit card application is as follows:

Full name – Don’t be tempted to use an abbreviation of your full name. You will need to fill out your entire legal name on the application

Date of Birth – Different online application forms have various formats for dates of birth. You might find some lenders will have the entire month listed down for you in a handy drop down box. However, other lenders might have the month listed before the day instead of the other way around. Be sure you double-check the format the lender wants.

Contact Details – most application forms will request your full residential home address, not a PO Box, on the form. You should also include home and mobile phone numbers as well as an email address so you can receive email confirmation of your online credit card approval.

Australian Driver’s Licence Number – Before you begin entering your details into the online application form, grab your driver’s licence and take note of the number. You’ll need this as a form of ID for your application.

Income Details – Regardless of what income figure you write into the application, you will be asked to verify this. This could mean supplying pay slips or tax returns or Centrelink statements to your lender at a later time.

Employer’s Details – You may be asked to submit details about your employer, such as your job title, employer’s name and address and contact number for verification of employment. If you’re self-employed, be prepared to enter the contact details for your accountant.

Monthly Expenses and Liabilities – Take a little time to look up the accurate repayments you make on any current credit cards, personal loans or mortgage payments before you begin your application.

Assets – You may also need to enter a list of your current assets. The lender doesn’t actually want to take these assets from you, but it is a way for the assessor to verify your financial situation. Include things like property, cars and superannuation in your assets list.<

Once you’ve completed and submitted your online application properly and supplied all the information correctly, you should find that your online credit card approval takes about a minute. You should receive your ‘approval in principle’ via email advising you of the next steps to take to make sure your credit card arrives in the post within the next five working days.
