Orange Credit Union began operations in 1964, in the form of the Email (Orange) Employees Credit Union, and it touched the 1,000 members mark in 1971. It now has more than 15,000 members and assets in excess of $155 million. How to apply for an Orange Credit Union credit card

Applying for an Orange Credit Card is fairly straightforward. To download an application, simply click on the ‘Go to Site’ button next to the card of your choice. Once you complete the application you can send it across via mail or fax, or you can drop it at the Orange Credit Union office. Before you move forward with the application ensure that you meet the following eligibility criteria.

Eligibility criteria

  • You are a permanent resident of Australia
  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You have good credit history
  • You earn at least $25,000 p.a. to apply for the low rate card and at least $35,000 p.a. to apply for the platinum card

Required documents

Completing the application requires you to submit with different types of information, so prepare to part the following.

  • Personal details. Provide your complete name, date of birth, residential address, phone number, email address, marital status, and number of dependants.
  • Work details. These include details of who you work for, including your employer’s name, phone number, and address. You also have to mention your employment status.
  • Income. Provide information of income from all sources.
  • Expenses. Provide details about how much you spend on a monthly basis, and include everyday expenses, utility bills, travel expenses, child support payments, and the likes.
  • Assets. These include savings, investments, real estate property, household contents, and vehicles.
  • Liabilities. This section requires detailed information about existing loans, credit cards, store cards, lines of credits, and overdrafts.

As part of the application process you have to submit certain documents, which can include the following.

  • Employed individuals should provide the last three payslips
  • Self-employed individuals should submit profit and loss statements along with tax returns for the last two years
  • Copy of rental statement
