Wouldn’t the lesson of this comic depend on whether J$ is doing this as an attempt at making money or just a matter of personal entertainment?

If he’s doing it to make money, then, yes, it’s a bad idea. But let’s say that he’s doing it to entertain himself. So, we have 100 scratch-off lottery tickets. He could possibly take like 90 seconds per lottery ticket. Times 100, that’s about 2 1/2 hours of entertainment time, right? He’s getting $38 back, so his net cost is $62. While spending $62 for 2.5 hours of entertainment might not be the best bang for the buck, it’s also not as bad as it might seem at first glimpse. Right?
