What are Qantas Frequent Flyer points?
Qantas Frequent Flyer points are the points that are earned by members of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Program when they spend on a linked credit card or through any other affiliated card scheme or partner program. Points accumulated can then be redeemed for a range of flights, travel rewards and merchandise.
How can I earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points?
Points are earned when you spend on a credit card or other card that is linked to the program. Different credit cards will have different dollars-to-points ratios, according to such factors as whether the card is Classic, Silver, Gold, or a higher level that may be termed Platinum, Premium or Ultimate. Virtually all purchases that are made on these cards will count towards your points accumulation, and you will earn more points per dollar for spending on Qantas and several other partner airlines and partner products, because you will be rewarded for using you card and for who you have used it with.
Silver, Gold, or Platinum Frequent Flyers will earn extra points known as a Status bonus when flying on eligible Qantas, Jetstar, British Airways and American Airlines flights. This bonus is applied to the base rate of points in the following way:
- Silver Frequent Flyers earn a 25% Status bonus. meaning 25% more points
- Gold Frequent Flyers earn a 50% Status bonus, meaning 50% more points
- Platinum Frequent Flyers earn a 100% Status bonus, meaning double points
You will earn one Qantas Frequent Flyer point per mile travelled on eligible full economy flights with Qantas, Oneworld alliance airlines and 16 other partner airlines. Airlines in the Oneworld group are Qantas, American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN, Mal©v Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana and Royal Jordanian, and these airlines fly to 675 destinations around the world.
