The Australian Financial Review board states that credit card revenue has decreased at David Jones stores in the last few years. In 2004 and in 2005, credit card purchases made up 30% of the store’s revenue, but that percentage diminished by 2009 standing at only 18%. But the company has done what it can to boost business and it expects that its revenue will jump to anywhere between 5% to 10% for the fiscal year of 2010.
David Jones originally partnered with American Express in order to create the store’s own charge card in 2008. The partnership was supposed to go to Citigroup but American Express beat them out.
Users of the re-launched credit card can also earn over 30,000 bonus points when they spend 3 times outside David Jones within 1 month of receiving your card.
