Singapore Airlines Credit Card Comparison
Krisflyer Miles
The Krisflyer rewards program helps you get to into the skies and to your ultimate destination quicker through the points you earn on your everyday purchases for use on Singapore airlines flights.
You will need a Singapore Airlines Westpac standard, platinum credit card to earn Krisflyer rewards in addition to a KirsFlyer membership number. Once you have your card, provide Westpac with your membership number and all you have to do is use your card on your everyday purchases and the points will be automatically credited to your account every month.
Earning Rewards
The amount of points you will earn on your everyday purchases depends on the type of card you are using as each cardholder will be given both an American Express and a Visa to use for purchases. The American Express card will earn points at a higher rate but is not accepted in as many places as Visa so the choice between the two covers you for all situations and ensures that you get the most from your spending at the same time.
The points you have accrued will stay in your account for three years before expiring; however, for a small fee you are able to extend them for an extra six months while elite members may extend the life of their points by up to a year. If you points have expired already you do not have the option of extending them; however, Westpac will give you ample warning before the date of expiration arrives.
Rate of earning
If you are a Platinum card holder you will receive 1.5 Krisflyer miles for every dollar you spend on the American Express and 1:1 miles to dollars when using your Visa card.
Bonus
Bonus miles are available to customers who purchase their airline ticket at Singapore Air website. The booking must be an international flight and be processed in Australian dollars.
How to become a member
You can ask Westpac to enroll you in the program when you apply for the credit card by nominating to do so on the application form or you can go to Krisflyer.com to complete the process yourself. You can still use the credit card if you are not a member but you will be missing out of the opportunity to earn rewards.
When you sign up for the Krisflyer rewards program, all important information will be clearly stated on your monthly credit card statement including:
- the amount of miles that have been transferred to your membership account
- the total amount of miles in your account
- bonus, standard and promotional miles
- refunded miles and miles that have been brought forward since the last billing statement.
If you feel there has been an error in any of the information that appears on your statement, you will have 90 days to make a dispute.

Can you make tax payments to the ATO?
Hi Johnathan. Thanks for your question. If you make the transaction as a BPAY payment, you will not earn rewards points as BPAY payments do not earn points. If you can get the ATO to direct debit from the account, you can earn points on this transaction. Hope this helps. Jacob.
