The Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum Card is one of the family of companion credit cards. This means you actually get two credit cards, the idea being to maximise your chances of earning points with its rewards program, which as the name suggests earns KrisFlyer miles towards flights with Singapore Airlines.

With companion credit cards, you pay one annual fee, have one credit limit, and get one monthly statement, but you get the opportunity to double your points. The way this works is that you use your Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum American Express Card for purchases where Amex is accepted, earning you 1.5 KrisFlyer mile per dollar spent, and where Amex isn’t accepted, you just present your Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum Visa Card for payment instead, earning 0.5 KrisFlyer mile per dollar spent. Also, if you purchase Singapore Airlines tickets in Australian dollars with either of your cards on singaporeair.com.au for travel out of Australia, you will earn double the standard KrisFlyer miles that you would have earned.

And to get you well and truly on your way, you earn 10000 KrisFlyer miles with your first purchase with either card.

Finally, let’s not forget the usual platinum benefits such as complimentary insurances, purchase cover and extended warranties.

The Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum Card Rewards Program

  • Earn 1.5 KrisFlyer mile for every $1 spent on purchases in or outside Australia using your Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum American Express Card
  • Earn 0.5 KrisFlyer mile for every $1 spent on purchases within Australia using your Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum Visa Card
  • Receive 10000 KrisFlyer miles after your first purchase using either of your cards
  • Earn double the usual KrisFlyer miles for every dollar your spend on singaporeair.com.au

Does the Singapore Airlines Platinum Westpac Card provide additional cards, ie. one for myself and one for my husband?

      Jeremy | February 10, 2012

      Hi Ann,

Yes the Westpac Singapore Airlines Platinum Credit Card does allow an additional card holder at no extra fee. A secondary or additional card holder does not have the same authority as the primary card holder. You will be able to make purchases etc. but you will not be able to increase the credit limit or close the account. Cheers.

what is the annual fee for gold and platinum card after end of the 1st year of the promotional offer?

    • Staff
      Jacob | September 26, 2012

Hi Jan. The annual fee for the Singapore Airlines Westpac Platinum Card is $250 payable from the first statement after you activate your card. The promotional offer refers to a low introductory interest rate of 1.99% for 12 months. After the 12 month introductory period, the annual purchase rate of interest will be charged on any outstanding balance transfer debt. Thanks for your question.

Hi Ravi. I’m not sure about the staff discount best to ask someone at your work. As for earning points, you will earn points on your everyday purchases, buying groceries etc. There are exclusions, generally relating to cash advances and balance transfers, but there are others too, so you should consult the PDS for further information. Cheers.

      Jacob | March 12, 2013

Hi Scott. This card does not come with any specific lounge access benefits. However, as a Kirsflyer member, you can use your status points to get access to Star Alliance lounges all over the world. Hope this helps.
