Variable Points Plus Pay can be used on all kinds of redemptions other than the transfer of Amplify points to Airline points and Miles, and other bank related fees such as the waiving of an annual fee.

This calculator allows cardholders to enter their desired number of Amplify points, or the amount of Airline points that they would like to have. • How many Amplify points they need to transfer for their desired number of Airline points, or
  • How many Airline points they can transfer for a specific number of Amplify points.

If the correct information is provided on the Amplify Rewards website, a temporary password is emailed to the registered email address.

Browser recommendations for viewing the Amplify Rewards website

Amplify Rewards requires usage of Internet Explorer version 5.1 or higher. This is necessary to maximize your website experience and ensure the highest level of Internet security. The Amplify Rewards website uses digital security certificates to protect the confidentiality of any personal information on the website. These certificates are issued by VeriSign and protect the integrity of the Internet browsing session.

Since January 2003, VeriSign has stopped supporting the digital certificates which are installed in versions of Internet Explorer 5.0 and lower. These browsers do not support 128-bit SSL encryption, which is the highest level of Internet security. Because of this, you may experience browsing difficulties if you are using a version of Internet Explorer which is below Version 5.1. In order to check which version of Internet Explorer you are using, you should go to the ‘help’ button on the top menu bar of Internet Explorer, scroll down and choose ‘About Internet Explorer’. The version number will be mentioned in the box that opens.

Difficulties activating account or logging in

You may experience difficulties logging in or activating your account, if the relevant page does not display properly. Such a circumstance is likely to occur if you are using a version of Internet Explorer which is lower than Version 5.1. To ensure the highest level of internet security and confidentiality, Amplify Rewards requires that your browser must be Internet Explorer 5.1 or higher. This is due to the fact that Amplify Rewards uses VeriSign to maintain the security levels.

If you are unsure as to the version of Internet Explorer that you are using, you can check it out from the ‘help’ button on the top menu bar of Internet Explorer. If you select this button and scroll down, you can click on ‘About Internet Explorer’, which will display the version number of Internet Explorer that you are using.

What are the terms and conditions of the Amplify Rewards card?

Like all credit cards, the Amplify Rewards card has some specific terms and conditions regarding the use of the card and redeeming rewards points.

Amplify points are earned on purchases. They are not earned on any kind of cash advances. If your card is in arrears for 2 consecutive statement cycles, cardholders will not be eligible for points. A minimum of 3000 points must be earned before the points can be redeemed.

When redeeming points for travel services, cardholders should be aware that bookings are dependent on availability. For instance, if a flight is already booked out completely, reward points cannot be redeemed for a seat on that flight.

In order to redeem Airline points or Miles, cardholders need to be an existing Airline points or Miles member. A minimum of 3000 Amplify rewards needs to be earned before the points can be redeemed for airline points.

In addition, other terms and conditions do apply for the use of the St.George Amplify Rewards credit card.

Already have a qantas frequent flyer card can I link the rewards to that card or do I have to apply for a new membership card? Also the card I wish to have a balance transfer to has my middle and first names back to front will that be a problem? When I set up my current home loan with St.George the card in question caused a major headache.

      Hi Howard,

Great question. For a new customer, to link your existing Qantas Frequent Flyer membership to your St.George Amplify Rewards account simply choose Amplify Qantas as your rewards program option, make sure to include you Qantas Frequent Flyer membership details on credit card application. For existing customers who would like to switch from Amplify Rewards to Amplify Qantas all you need to do is complete a ‘program switch request’. If there are any problems don’t hesitate to get in contact with a St.George member of staff. If your personal details appear incorrectly on your credit card, the best course of action is to take the card back to the bank to have the situation rectified as soon as possible to avoid any more headaches. Thanks for your question, hope this helps.

      Cheers
      Jeremy

I already have a frequent flyer Visa card with the anz bank. Seeing as all my business is with St.George can I transfer to St.George and get my existing points transferred?

    • Staff
      Marc | February 25, 2013

      Hi Valma,
      that’s a great question.

Qantas Frequent Flyer points are held in your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership account, not on your credit card, so if one credit card is closed and another opened no points should be lost. An existing Frequent Flyer account can be linked with the St.George Amplify card so Frequent Flyer points are earned at the rate of 1 point for every $2 spent on eligible purchases.

      I hope this helps,
      Marc.
