Low rate credit cards

Apart from the low ongoing rate, The Rock’s Low Rate MasterCard also gives you up to 55 days interest-free on purchases if you do pay back your entire credit card balance. For the first 9 months a promotional rate also applies to any balance you bring across from an existing credit card.
Platinum credit cards
Consider a platinum card if you want that little bit extra for your regular credit card spending. Reward points, insurance covers and promotional interest rates can all be available on these cards. When you get the Platinum MasterCard through The Rock you’ll be enrolled in the rewards program for free plus get access to a concierge service. Applying for a Rock credit card
Visit any Rock branch to apply for the low rate or platinum MasterCard, or initiate the process over the phone. You can also apply online. To apply, you have to meet certain eligibility criteria, which are as follows:
- You’re over 18 years of age
- You’re an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia
- You don’t have poor creditworthiness
- You can provide a valid email address
- You earn at least $25,000 per year or more to apply for the low rate card
- You earn at least $35,000 per year or more to apply for the platinum card
- Personal and contact details. This section requires your complete name, driver’s licence number, address and phone number.
- Job details. Start by selecting your industry and occupation, and then provide your employer’s name and contact details along with time employed with current employer.
- Income and expenses. If you have other sources of income apart from your primary job’s wages, provide details of these. Expenses include money you spend towards rent, utilities, and all other recurring expenses. This section also requires details about all your existing debts.

After you apply, a Card Services rep might contact you for more information. An employment and income verification call might also be made to your place of employment. Platinum cardholders earn reward points upon making eligible in-store, online, or over the phone purchases, where every dollar spent earns 1 reward points. Additional cards linked to platinum cards also earn reward points.
How can I redeem reward points?
To redeem your reward points you can visit the Card Services website or call Card Services.
Is there a cap on the number of points I can earn?
Yes. Reward points are earned on a cycle basis, where every year, as a platinum cardholder you cannot earn more than 100,000 reward points. However, if your account is in good standing your points will never expire.
What can I get for my reward points?
Take Flight allows you to redeem your reward points for flight tickets, and you also have the option to transfer your points to a frequent flyer reward program. A number of travel and shopping vouchers are there for the taking, and you can also use your points as cashback.
How often do I receive a statement, and is there anything in particular I need to know?
Card Services provides you with a credit card statement each month. If you apply for your credit card online, you provide consent to receive your statement, and all other forms of correspondence, electronically. You can change this preference once your account is open.
