I registered a credit rating with Veda as I had previously been refused an application for a credit card with another financial institution. HSBC showed an inaccurate default from 6 years ago. I contacted HSBC and was advised this has now been removed from my record with their policies. Will this affect my request?

Hi Carol, thanks for your inquiry!

Removing inaccurate records from your credit file can increase your chances of being approved for credit. It would be best to contact the financial institution you had initially applied for to notify them of your updated credit status and recommence your initial application. It is important to note that reapplying for the card without contacting the bank may result in being rejected due to frequent applications within a very short period of time.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,

      Jonathan
