    1) what is deemed a eligible business purchase?
Telephone? mobile? internet expenses? power bill? to your work place,
Rent of your work shop? Vehicle expenses i.e fuel bill, tyres, vehicle repairs? Products you use such as air conditioners? Refrigerant?Power tools? Equipment like duct lifters? Recovery units? Consumables oil, cleaning fluids? I guess any expense paid by the credit card that forms part of the operation of the business your in would be ok?

    2) Is there a limit on how many points you can accumulate in a month? in a year?

3)i already have a personal credit card with westpac for the last 10 years is it a easier process to change it to a Westpac Business Choice Rewards Card?

Hi Tawhiri, thanks for your question!

      1) As per Westpac’s Rewards terms and conditions; “Aquire Points are calculated on the number of Australian dollars charged to the card account in connection with purchases of goods or services (including any GST payable in respect of the goods or services) from merchants accepting a card.” As much as we would like to give an absolute rule on what types of transactions count as eligible purchases, this detail varies depending on each merchant as the agreement and type of service/ good is treated differently by Westpac. Generally we can advise that any transaction which accepts credit card payment will earn rewards points.

      2) This card has uncapped points earnings.

      3) To switch to another Westpac credit card you can apply via Online Banking to change your existing card, call Westpac on 1300 130 961 or visit a Westpac branch.

      Jonathan | March 18, 2015

Hi Geoff, thanks for your inquiry!

The earnings rate for Acquire points is 0.67 per $1 spent. The conversion rate for Acquire points to Qantas Frequent Flyer points is 1:1. At this point there is no cap on the number of points you can earn in a year.
