Both cards share the same credit limit and the same statements, but you have the choice of using either at any time.
When you purchase using your American Express card, you can earn 1 Qantas frequent flyer point per $1 spent. However, you’ll earn 0.5 points per $1 spent on your Visa or MasterCard.
You can also earn points twice on the same purchase simply by spending with Qantas frequent flyer program partners. You earn points for spending with the partner and if you pay for your purchase using your credit card, you earn more points again.
Redeem your points for travel, flights, accommodation or other Qantas products and services. There’s no cap on the amount of points you can have, so save up your points for that special trip away or redeem them whenever you want.
The Westpac Earth card also offers a promotional 0.99% p.a. for 6 months on balance transfers. This means you could stop paying high interest on your old accounts when you transfer your balances over to Westpac. Put your interest savings towards repaying your credit card debt and you could find your balance shrinking faster than you thought possible.
