How to apply for a Woolworths credit card
Follow the links on this page to start a secure online credit card application on the Woolworths website. The application will only take you ten to fifteen minutes to complete if you have the following information ready.
- Identification - As well as some basic information about yourself, have your drivers licence handy. If you can’t meet the online verification requirements, you may be required to verify your identity by providing 100 points of identification. If this is the case, Woolworths will contact you about their conditions.
- Income - You’ll need to input information about your income and employer. You may also be asked to provide proof of your income to Woolworths. For example, by sending them your most recent payslips.
- Expenses - If you want to save money on credit card repayments with a balance transfer, you’ll need your credit card with the debt you want to transfer close by when you apply for the Woolworths credit card. The application also requires you to list your ongoing expenses like rent or mortgage repayments, child support and your weekly food budget.

How do I check on my credit card application?
If you applied for a Woolworths credit card but didn’t hear anything about your application, call the Customer Service team on 1300 10 1234 and follow the prompts to speak to a representative.
You may also want to check the junk folder of your inbox. The email about your application can sometimes get tagged as spam.
What happens if my application has been declined?
You’ll be informed in writing as well as by email if your credit card application is declined. Credit card providers are unable to tell you why an applciation has been rejected; however, if it’s because of your credit file, you’ll be notified of this and directed to further information.
How do I transfer my card debt to a Woolworths card with a balance transfer?
As a new customer
You can elect to transfer your non-Woolworths credit card or store card debt to a Woolworths credit card when you apply for the account online.
- Balance transfers are accepted from other credit cards or store cards only.
- You can transfer from up to four other credit cards or store cards.
- The minimum amount you can transfer is $500 and the maximum amount is up to your available credit limit.
If you’re approved for the account, once your receive and activate the card, the balance transfer will be automatically processed by Woolworths.
For existing customers
Existing Woolworths account holders that want to transfer a balance from another credit card or store card will need to complete and send in a balance transfer request form. Download this from the Woolworths website.
If your balance transfer to a Woolworths credit card is accepted, it can take up to 14 business days before the funds clear and you can see the balance in your account.
When do I get my first credit card statement?
Your statement is issued within five weeks of the first transaction you make on your Woolworths credit card. If you have requested a balance transfer, it counts as a transaction and is processed as soon as you activate your Woolworths credit card.
How do I get interest-free days on purchases?
To get ‘up to’ interest free days on purchases, pay back the purchases you make on your credit card within the interest-free period. Check the Woolworths credit card product table on our review pages to see whether the Woolworths credit card offers interest-free days.
You will not receive any interest-free days on your purchases if you’re carrying a balance from the previous month, like when you pay off a balance transfer promotion over the length of the promotional period. You also will not any interest-free days if you carry out a cash transaction, like withdrawing money from the ATM.
What’s the minimum amount I must pay of my credit card every month?
If you can’t pay your Woolworths credit card balance in full when your statement is issued, you’re required to pay back a small percentage of your total outstanding balance by the due date shown on your statement. How do I make a repayment to my Woolworths credit card?
You can make a repayment to your Woolworths credit card in the following ways.
- BPAY. If you’re paying your Woolworths credit card from another institution’s online banking facility, log on to your internet banking and select BPAY from the payments and transfers menu. BPAY payments can take up to two business days to process.
- BPAY Biller Code: 017574.
- Your customer reference number is your account number.
- Direct debit. You can set up a direct debit payment from your everyday transaction or savings account with another bank. You can set up a direct debit to pay just the minimum repayment due on your account, a fixed amount or the entire balance of your credit card. It can take up to five business days for a direct debit payment to be processed.
- In person. You can also pay your credit card at a Woolworths supermarket or BIG W store. You can pay with cash or a debit card. All you need to do is show your Woolworths credit card to a representative.
- By mail. Send a cheque to Everyday Money Credit Cards PO Box 347 Artarmon, NSW 1570 and allow up to five business days for the cheque to be processed. You may also have to account for the time it takes for the cheque to be delivered in the post.
What happens if my credit card is about to expire?
Two weeks before your old card is about to expire, a new card will be sent out to you in the mail. If, for whatever reason, you don’t get your card, you need to call Woolworths Money Customer Service on 1300 10 1234.
How do I find out my credit limit on my Woolworths credit card?
Your credit limit is how much money Woolworths will allow you to spend on your card. They use a calculation of your income, assets, debts and liabilities to find out how much you could afford to repay.
You can request a specific credit limit or you can request the maximum amount of credit you can get. If you want more credit, request a credit limit increase. Each request for more credit is judged by the same criteria, so don’t expect to be granted more credit if you’ve taken the maximum amount and your circumstances have not changed.

How do I get an additional card for a family member?
There’s the option of applying for an additional cardholder when during the online application for a Woolworths credit card. Or this can be done after the application by downloading an additional cardholder application from the Woolworths Money website.
Each Woolworths credit card may allow you to get a different number of additional cardholders. You can find out more on our review pages.
Each supplementary cardholder must be over the age of 16 and an Australian resident. If you have a family member who is over the age of 18, they can apply for a Woolworths credit card in their own name.
If you want to cancel a supplementary card, you need to notify Woolworths Money in writing, and then cut the card up and send it back to them in pieces.
What do I do if I lose my card or it’s stolen?
Report a lost or stolen card immediately to Customer Service on 1300 10 1234. Do this right away otherwise you may be liable for charges on the card if someone else tries to use it.
If you’re overseas call +612 8276 0144. A fee may be charged to get your credit card sent out to you.
Who is the credit provider for Woolworths credit cards?
Both credit card products offered by Woolworths are underwritten by HSBC — they’re the credit provider for Woolworths. All cards issued after the 26th of October are underwritten by Macquarie Bank.
This shouldn’t be something you need to consider when applying for a Woolworths credit card. However, this will be factor if you’re looking to transfer a balance to a Woolworths credit card from an existing HSBC credit card.
What’s the difference between Everyday Money and Everyday Rewards?
The Woolworths Everyday Money MasterCard and Qantas Platinum Credit Card are products that operate as credit facilities. You can use them to finance your day-to-day purchases or as an emergency source of cash.
The Everyday Rewards Card is a Woolworths product that you use to hold your fuel saving discounts, and earn Everyday Rewards Points when you spend at Woolworths Group stores.
Cardholders will see real benefits when the Everyday Money Cards and the Everyday Rewards cards are linked. Existing Everyday Rewards members can do this when they apply for the Woolworths credit card. You get money off at the fuel pump when you swipe your credit card, you earn Everyday Rewards on all your credit card purchases and you get bonus points when you spend at Woolworths stores.
What is the Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard?
A prepaid MasterCard lets you spend your own money to shop online or in-store. They can be used everywhere MasterCard is accepted.
They’re a budgeting tool that can also be used by people who have bad credit and want a hassle-free way to make electronic payments.
Can I get a Woolworths Prepaid Credit Card?
