Compare credit cards from one of Australia’s largest supermarket chains and save money on your next grocery shop

Woolworths is one of Australia’s largest and most frequented supermarket chains. Along with Coles, Woolworths has the lion’s share of the Australian grocery market. Woolworths has grown to be more than just a place to do your shopping. Whether it’s petrol, food or your credit card repayments — there are more ways you can save at Woolworths.

Woolworths offer credit cards, a number of financial services like insurance and prepaid debit cards, and they even have a loyalty program: Woolworths Everyday Rewards. Woolworths credit cards are rewards-focused and benefit shoppers at Woolworths Group stores the most. Woolworths Everyday Rewards Points translate to money off at the checkout, or there’s the option to get rewarded with Qantas Points when you shop. We compare Woolworths credit cards and have a look at their value on this page. There are answers to frequently asked questions and information on how to apply for a Woolworths credit card as well.

Withdrawals at ANZ ATMs are free in Australia.

How do I find out my credit limit on my Woolworths credit card?

Your credit limit is how much money Woolworths will allow you to spend on your card. They use a calculation of your income, assets, debts and liabilities to find out how much you could afford to repay.

You can request a specific credit limit or you can request the maximum amount of credit you can get. If you want more credit, request a credit limit increase. Each request for more credit is judged by the same criteria, so don’t expect to be granted more credit if you’ve taken the maximum amount and your circumstances have not changed.

You can request a credit limit increase by downloading the credit limit increase form available on the Woolworths website.

How do I get an additional card for a family member?

There’s the option of applying for an additional cardholder during the online application for a Woolworths credit card. This can also be done after the application by downloading an additional cardholder application from the Woolworths Money website.

Each Woolworths credit card may allow you to get a different number of additional cardholders. You can find out more on our review pages.

Each supplementary cardholder must be over the age of 16 and an Australian resident. If you have a family member who is over the age of 18, they can apply for a Woolworths credit card in their own name.

If you want to cancel a supplementary card, you need to notify Woolworths Money in writing, and then cut the card up and send it back to them in pieces.

What do I do if I lose my card or it's stolen?

Report a lost or stolen card immediately to Customer Service on 1300 10 1234. Do this right away otherwise you may be liable for charges on the card if someone else tries to use it.

If you’re overseas call +612 8276 0144. A fee may be charged to get your credit card sent out to you.

Who is the credit provider for Woolworths credit cards?

Both credit card products offered by Woolworths are underwritten by HSBC — they’re the credit provider for Woolworths. All cards issued after the 26th of October are underwritten by Macquarie Bank.

This shouldn’t be something you need to consider when applying for a Woolworths credit card. However, this will be factor if you’re looking to transfer a balance to a Woolworths credit card from an existing HSBC credit card.

What’s the difference between Everyday Money and Everyday Rewards?

The Woolworths Everyday Money MasterCard and Qantas Platinum Credit Card are products that operate as credit facilities. You can use them to finance your day-to-day purchases or as an emergency source of cash.

The Everyday Rewards Card is a Woolworths product that you use to hold your fuel saving discounts, and earn Everyday Rewards Points when you spend at Woolworths Group stores.

Cardholders will see real benefits when the Everyday Money Cards and the Everyday Rewards cards are linked. Existing Everyday Rewards members can do this when they apply for the Woolworths credit card. You get money off at the fuel pump when you swipe your credit card, you earn Everyday Rewards on all your credit card purchases and you get bonus points when you spend at Woolworths stores.

What is the Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard?

A prepaid MasterCard lets you spend your own money to shop online or in-store. They can be used everywhere MasterCard is accepted.

They’re a budgeting tool that can also be used by people who have bad credit and want a hassle-free way to make electronic payments.

I am self-funded retiree, can I apply for a Woolworths Credit Card?

    • Staff
      Jonathan | February 4, 2015

      Hi Danny,

      Thanks for your inquiry!

Please note that finder.com.au is an online comparison service, we are not directly affiliated with Woolworths. Lenders have individual lending policies and Woolworths will need to assess your financial and personal situation to be able to advise on your options and eligibility. For self funded individuals they will need to check that they meet the minimum income requirements for the credit card.

      Woolworths eligibility criteria are as follows;

-You must be over 18 years old
-You annual gross earnings before tax should be at least $30,000
-You should have a good credit history

      I hope this helps!

      Cheers,

      Jonathan

    Hi,

Woolworths has a credit card called “Woolworths Money Qantas Platinum Credit Card”. Does the name imply that it is a Qantas Frequent Flyer card? Do the points earned on this card translate to equal Qantas Frequent Flyer points? For example, 1000 points earned translate to 1000 Qantas Frequent Flyer points under the Qantas FF program.

    Thanks
    Fred

      Hi FredW,

      Thanks for your question.

This card is tied to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program and allows you to earn Qantas Points for your purchases. You’ll earn 1 Qantas Point per $1 spent on eligible purchases, and 2 points per $1 spent on selected Qantas products and services. You can read more about the card, as well as apply for it, on this page.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth

      Elizabeth | November 10, 2014

      Hi goitsemang,

      Thanks for your question.

You should receive an email or a message relatively quickly after completing your application letting you know whether you’d been approved, conditionally approved or declined. You may want to get in touch with Woolworths directly to check on the status of your application.

      I hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth

How do I authorise provision of accounts by email?

    • Staff
      Elizabeth | October 7, 2014

      Hi Patrick,

      Thanks for your question.

You’re able to do this via the online account area on the Woolworths Money website. You just need to go to the secure login area and enter the last 12 digits of your credit card number plus your six digit access code.

      Hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth

hi!i receive statement about credit card ,but i don’t have a credit card

    • Staff
      Elizabeth | October 7, 2014

      Hi Nomsa,

      Thanks for your question.

If the statement has your name on it then it’s important to get in contact with Woolworths and have them cancel the card immediately to prevent any further transactions being made. If this is not a mistake on Woolworths part, then this may be a case of identity theft and so would be a good time to get in contact with the police.

We’ve also written a page on credit identity theft that can help you understand this situation a bit more and that you might want to take a read of.

      Hope this has helped.

      Thanks,

      Elizabeth
