Features of the Woolworths Reloadable Prepaid MasterCard

One of the best features of this card is the fact that no credit checks are required. Simply said, if you haven’t got the money, you can’t shop. The card is very much a debit card that lets you load your money, then spend it – not the other way round. This is great for:

  • People with bad credit
  • People who struggle with their debts
  • People looking to manage their finances
  • People loving flexibility

Reload Time and Again

You can reload the Woolworths prepaid card as many times as you like, provided its use-by date hasn’t expired yet. Much like a proper credit card this card comes with an expiry date as well.

Shop Worldwide

If you plan a holiday to some exotic location fear no more. This card will keep you cashed up, even for the most off-the-track trips, provided you have loaded your cash beforehand and there is acceptance for MasterCard.

Card Information

It only costs $9.95 to buy this card, making it affordable for all. You also have the choice of two fee options when you buy it. To reload the card you can:

  • Add funds online via BPAY
  • Buy additional credits in any Big W store in Australia

Hi, this card is to be used by the family. Is it acceptable if the person whose name this card is under is not present when money is put into the card (in terms that the reloading is done face to face)?

      Hi Nana,

Yes, this is allowed. You can also load online using BPAY or “Direct credit” transferring money from your bank account direct to your Prepaid card.

Hello. With the Woolworth cash card, can we send money transfer to an overseas country to make a donation e.g. to the USA or India and anywhere around the world to an animal welfare organisation? Does PayPal work with this?

    • Staff
      Jacob | September 16, 2013

      Hi Angela.

This shouldn’t be a problem as it uses the MasterCard international payment system. Any organisation that accepts MasterCard payments will accept this card. There will be a number of fees and charges if you use your card to pay this way though. You should also be able to link this card to PayPal.

Hello can I use this pre paid MasterCard to purchase online sportspicks overseas? I’ve spoken to the merchant and they agreed providing my address is attached to the card, I only worry about woolworths not accepting the transaction in purchasing in online sorts betting picks.
This is not an online casino

    • Staff
      Jacob | September 17, 2012

Hi Sam. Thanks for your question. You’re right to be skeptical about online transactions that may be classified as gambling. With credit cards, some providers do not allow these transactions; while others do, but accept the transaction either as a cash advance or a purchase. For information on cards and gambling transactions, check our article on the topic. Although this is a Woolworths card, it is provided by ANZ. They are one of the card providers that accepts gambling transactions. However, as this is a prepaid card, the different interest rates do not apply and there should be no issues with how you spend your money. Best to double check with Woolworths or ANZ before going ahead and making a purchase. Cheers.

      Hope this helps.
